11 bhp extra. I'd like to see 100 more. Then we'd all be excited. Beautiful but slower than a bottom of the range 997?

Thats interesting...Price a smudge over 100k..Thought it would be more........The other thing with Maserati they never seem to be give big power hikes...11 bhp more than standard..expected more 25/30 bhp.....Don't get me wrong it will be a great car and lighter.

Maserati's press release is quoting 450hp, which is a bit more, but not enough to make any real difference unless the weight is seriously shaved. Though it looks the mutts nuts, and to any Maseratisti it's bound to be exciting news, it could flop. A £100K+ supposedly track focused car with less than 500hp and a 0-60 still in the mid to high 4's... Hmm, there are all sorts out there that could easily top trump that.

Agree Miles needs to be part of the 500bhp club.....Now that would be special...ALways seems that Ferrari keep Maserati at bay power wish.....

No interior shots have been released yet. Apparently there are no back seats (the major advantage of the Maser). I guess with the California quoted at 460bhp then the Maserati's will be pegged below that for some time.

The holy trinity.. (as decreed by almighty Fiat on high)

THOU SHALT NOT FOOK WITH THE PRANCING HORSE.

THOU SHALT PUT THE ENGINE IN FRONT OF THE SEATS AND NOT BEHIND.

THOU SHALT ONLY MAKETH GRAND TOURERS WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

I'm starting not to get it.

The GranTurismo is a big fat car. It would seem to be great at what it does. So why make a 'race' version when it still weighs in at around 1750+ kg and horsepower is only up by 2%? Then charge 100 grand?

It'll have a couple of big white stripes down the middle of it next. (which will cost an extra 5K)

I agree trying to be all things to all people just does not work.
Should stick to being a four seater GT and just add Bhp

Agree Simon...a big shame....I had high hopes for this car after reading about it a few months ago...It's the sort of car I get a ***** over....Less weight, more power, track focused....but it seems a missed opportunity...But hey lets wait until the reviews come out...

Excellent. Anything Maserati can do to lower used prices of 4.2 and 4.7 auto GranTurismos is to be encouraged.

I'm not sure it will......Sure it will not be a bif seller if it has 2 seats.... specialist car me thinks.

Very true but nice to hope.

A main agent was telling me that its the 4.7 full auto that people want at the moment and they struggle to sell the flappy paddle jobby. As for the 4.2, not sure why still make it given its nearly the same cost as the 4.7 once the spec is adjusted.

I think that will depend whether they are only made to order (low supply) or the dealers are flooded with demo's/prespeced cars that need to be moved on.

Indeed but dealers seem to have good supply of new 'regular' GranTurismo even though it is not meant to be ordered for stock, the odd demo unit aside.
