Seems quite reasonably priced - AUD 85k is less than £50k. At that price it could be worth buying it and importing it to the UK.

I was just comparing it to the asking prices on MCVs sold by Dickie recently. I'd say this is quite competitive in terms of pricing. Rarely see them in Aus, think there was a UK import advertised for circa 110k a year or so ago. A lot may come down to history etc.

As this was not a UK delivered car... My understanding is that it still attracts duty and VAT. I would have thought this would be 60k gbp landed and on road in UK, for a car you are buying unseen. Makes it problematic.

And don't underestimate the sheer costs and logistical complexities of moving this car from far north qld to a UK port via containerized shipping. So on second thoughts... Closer to 65k.

I think you’re right about the landed UK cost. So it goes to show how cheap it is in Oz. If you can get out of your red GS for sensible money BL330, grab the upgrade while you can. Don’t underestimate how special the MCV feels.

Oh, I've been looking at that! Spoke to the owner and it seems OK.

However, I don't want to 'tread on your toes', BL330. I'll back off if you have already made a move.

Cheers, Greg

Hi Greg,

Yes I've spoken to the vendor twice and will look to the finances.
There could be a concours winning Rosso Mondiale GS coming up for sale soon, perhaps of interest to you?

Cmon Bruce.... You must have an update by now.... I'm presuming we'll soon see a red GS advertised?

I was going to let Greg (happydaze) announce his win.
The sun, moon & stars weren't in alignment this time for me.
Close, but no cigar.

Congrats Greg. I knew the car was gone... Just not sure where. Must have been a bit of focus applied to that drive south with the MCV in tow! Looking forward to some updates...

Welcome to Club MCV! Even though I’m now back to a normal GS, I have very fond memories of my time with my MCV. Enjoy.

Thanks for the positive comments, chaps. I'm beginning to recover from the 4300km trip (with trailer) to pick up the MCV.

Booked in next week for 'new fluids', and general check-over. I now need to put the 3200GT on the market!

Arrived back late yesterday (Sunday) with the precious cargo on the trailer. It is now safely tucked away in my 'shed', awaiting NSW registration, and a catch-up on service, etc. A truly lovely car, that won't be leaving Australia...

Congrats. Very nice. We do have very different ideas as to what a shed is between the UK and Australia.

The only way you can get 5 cars in a UK shed is dinky toys.
