There is that I suppose........but for me.........The MC20 looks so much better and it's not a Ferrari which is a big plus for me. Not that it matters as I will probably never be in the position to have that decision.......
100% with you on this... logic points towards the F12 for a given some of money, but I think there’s some satisfaction to be derived from having something exotic without the prancing horse or raging bull adorned on the front. As above though, I need to step up my work game to be in a position to buy one...

Always tricky to compare a second hand car with a new one. Of course, you’ll always pay a premium for new because it’s, er, new! Built to your own spec, with all the latest tech and mechanical, safety and ecological advancements, plus a full warranty, service pack, etc.

Id take the MC20 over the stylistically awkward F12 every time.

Have Maserati said anything yet about production numbers ?

If they are limited to say 500 units world wide then the effect on residual values can be quite different to those suggested in the thread.

MC12 was limited to 50 cars. New price around £400k price now used £1.5m

Alfa 8c on the other hand which is where i think Maserati will aim its production plan to emulate was limited to 500 cars world wide £109k when new. Used price now £220k.

How many Alfa 4c's were sold because people loved the look and design package of the 8c but could only afford the baby brother.

Could a baby Mc20 be in future plans if and when Alfa come up with a 4c replacement after the GTV launches.

Apparently only 30 coming to the UK in 2022. Who knows after that.

I would have thought that the F8 is more comparable to the MC20 than the F12.

GTV has been canned. I’ve a funny feeling what was planned as the hyper-Giulia Quadrifoglio Coupe (hybrid motor, 600brake, individually powered front axle or something) will be the new GranTurismo.

It's not limited in numbers but will be a while before production is at full speed of a few k units globally hence dealers are expecting very few cars in UK next year. I imagine max they will sell a few hundred a year of all variants in the UK in a few years time when spider and EV slate out. This is a halo car for them and they will look to recoup.investment by selling other more boring cars such as the small SUVs.
The 17k orders is just wrong. It's just not possible they will sell that number given sales numbers of comparable cars.

If the mc20 pricing is ontbe right side of £200k for a full spec, that wouldnt do any harm to GTS prices

You are, for once, correct. However, the F12 is only a cost equivalence, but a tried and tested V12 against a new and untested V8 shows what the MC20 has to live up to. To beat the 458, 488 and F8 will prove to be difficult but beating an F12 for all round performance, desirability and charisma will be near on impossible. If it does, good effort, but personally I am sceptical.

Looking at the option prices it's going to be the wrong side of 200k for a fully spec car if the 34k for carbon pack is anything to go by.

Don't think I will ever buy a new car when I look at some of the cars I have had over the years and the value compared to the initial cost.
The Ferrari 456 probably the best buy for a 98 model bought back in 2012 for £25,000.

Been reflecting on the MC20 - its is a proper leap forward - carbon tub (Ferrari still use aluminium for example) and moving strait into the new era for engines. The nettuno, is effing powerful, will be more more efficient, and run rings around our V8's except for the noise. All Touch screen interior.....you know, I might book a test drive. I do think this is a car to buy later on. There will be be early build issues I suspect and looking at the options, they are too limited at present (unless this is to force you into the atelier service) and I also want to understand financing etc. On my bucket list is to buy a new car from one end of Modena or the other and drive it back home...

The limited standard options is designed to motivate you into the tailored personalisation! They learned a thing or two from their tenure with Ferrari!

I think the car ought to be £150k then options

See its no change at Maserati. Bearing in mind this car was due to be launched 6 months ago, and given all the extra time they have had, still no options pricing or finance packages etc............its all a bit of an omnishambles really, as by the time that is all ready the initial interest would have faded somewhat............
