No so sure. Anyone with some money should be buying up Italian V8’s and dry storing them for a cash in.

I have long believed that after the initial electro rush many will be looking for a weekend toy.

even your run of the mill electro Corsa type superminis will be whooshing to 60 in 3 seconds and how good will it feel in a noisy V8 in a sea of washing machines.

You're right there - Ferrari have now lengthened the front end of the Roma to pop a N/A V12 in as the replacement for the 812 which they are testing now, so they see the value in a proper petrol engine for a special toy

You also have to remember that they are made on the Modena line and can produce a lot of them so eventually the supply will satisfy demand and prices drop
I believe production is limited by the carbon supply for the tub. Seem to remember 2500 worldwide, and they’ve sold out until mid 2023…

Looking at the MC20 cars currently available for sale in the UK, the average price is around £240k. Then look at the same for the Ferrari Roma, and it’s about £190k.

We could be only a year or so from seeing some Roma’s at the £150k mark. But it’ll take a good while longer for the MC20 to hit that figure.

And the Roma is a cracking car for £150k Such a beauty.

I was thinking Roma vs the new GT. The new GT would be far more practical with rear leg room and potentially as beautiful, in the right colour!

Really, that's interesting. I'd be interested in a v12 Roma, it's better looking than the 812.

Don’t think I’d need a V12 in a Roma. They’re already quicker than I need as standard. So I’m not certain a bigger, heavier lump up front would help matters. It’d sound good though

V12 at over 4lt capacity is excessive. Haven't been used in motorsport for over 2 decades. A thing of the past really and more of a gimmick than purpose. V8 are next.

I agree, I prefer the both the Roma and the F12 to the 812 and was tempted by an F12 before changing Stradale but couldn't justify the cost as they have increased £30k in the last 18 months. And is it three times better than a Stradale? Of course it's not!

Here's the V12 Roma prototype

I was at Meridien Modena yesterday and discovered it’s now too late to order a new Roma. The factory has closed the order book.
The only option now is the Roma Spider.
Not sure why they’ve stopped it so soon, but it’s presumably related to it to being their last fully ICE (non hybrid) car.
Don‘t panic if you already have one on order, as they are still building those - just not accepting any new additions to the list.

You should have come by my stand! We could have ignored the boats and chatted Strads! But yes, prices have gone crazy.

There was something on the news a few days back at the boat show where they were talking to, I think, a sales manger of sunseeker. Whilst on a 9 million pound yacht the reporter said something like ‘sales don’t seem to be affected, despite the cost of living crisis’.
I cant be the only one who spat my coffee out!

Dammit, my mortgage has gone up £500/month and the Tesco bill is up, energy price cap is still a bit of a stretch, we’re going to have to pass on the 9 million pound sunseeker, sorry darling.

Though someone spending 9 million on a toy boat they don’t actually need clearly has their “cost of living” expenses well covered. I don’t think a few extra quid on the weekly Waitrose shop is really hurting buyers of top end Sunseekers.

I think my Dad paid £40k for a new Fairline 26 Sunfury in 1984 with twin VP v6's
What would be the equivalent boat cost be today?
In money terms for inflation it would be £125k.

It's always the same the seriously rich always ride cost of living rises as they have little impact on their overall expenditure. Those at the top generally get richer in times of upheaval hence why top end luxury items, like Ferraris & Boats, can continue to rise and those who have will pay.

The smallest Fairline today is the 33 and it is a fabulous boat. Depending on spec, it’s about half a million.
Fairline had a good show. They launched the new 58 model and sold five of them. Price starts at about £1.5m, so think £2m for high spec.
