Can't remember if it was the MC20 or the Emira they said this about but sure it was the MC20.

Maybe the new Granturismo with that engine will be sweet spot of the range.
interestingly Harry Metcalf in his review of the Lotus Emira opted for touring spec suspension not sport and said it was the best he’s driven.

The ride isn’t bad, or crashy, it’s firm but isn’t everything nowadays? For what it is, it’s very good, and will sell when the price gets sensible. They’ll be £150-160k by Christmas and then bounce up a little in price in my opinion. I also think modern cars aren’t for me, like @hashluck says and @Nayf, ‘peak car’ was about 1993-2015. Anything over the last few years has been compromised by pointless regulations and NCAP, CO2, etc etc.

To be honest, most people love to hate Maserati, in whichever review I watch, everyone comments that the screen is the one from the Fiat 500. Which ok, perhaps it is.

However, I have never seen anyone comment that the AMG ONE has the same screen as my Mercedes Citan Van (ok the Citan's screen has a small frame around it, but all the design of the software and the home button is the same). :p

Mid/late 80's the Japanese motorbike industry created a voluntary cap of 120BHP on bikes, we bought a ZX10 when they first came out and the mechanic at the first service told me that the green spots on the sides of the carbs indicated the restriction. Involved taking the tank off, removing all four carb tops and breaking/filing a tab off the sliders so they could full open! An hour after picking it up I was 'enjoying' the full experience :D Don't know the actual increase but it pointed the nose into the air an awful lot more!!!!
I remember that but on the ZXR750 it was remove carb tops insert ZX10/ZZR11 carb tops and refit...then hold on for dear life. Now that bike has hard suspension!

I posted on his video, I really don't agree with a lot of what he's saying. The GT mode made the car I drove tame like a Honda and wasn't at all crashy. Of course, we all like different things, but given the weight of different opinion to James' from other journalists and road testers - and my own feelings from driving one for a good few hours - I think he's wrong (or maybe the car was not quite right).

The only think I found unusal was the lack of engine braking from the V6 which took some getting used to.

Looks a gorgeous car. I owned a Lexus RCF that Clarkson absolutely slated. If I like it, I don't care about what others think ultimately.

I respect and enjoy watching Jayemms vids however.

I'll never have to worry about what others will think about me owning a MC20 though lol Never gonna have that kind of money :p

They did a similar thing in the 70s.
One example being the Kawasaki 900 Z1, the first models were the fastest and then mid 70s it got called the Z900 with smaller carbs, then it became the Z1000 in the late 70s which was slower than all the 900’s. I think it was down to what they thought was an impending ban in the US on too fast motorcycles and emission laws coming in in California. The emissions signalled the end for the triple 2-strokes.

And then there's the speed limiter on Japanese Grey imports, particularly the 400s. It consisted of a photocell that detected when the speedo needle got to a certain point and then it cut the ignition. Easily frigged!

The MC20 is a good car, I love that it exists and the want factor is high, although I can't help but think it was planned to have an Alfa Badge on it and be called the 6C.

I'm also a big fan of Dallara; I loved visiting their site a couple of years ago, very impressive.

Spot the Difference part two

Both pairs of bikes were seen on Douglas Promenande...

WHich reminds me...TT week next week. Practise this week.
5 killed last year! wasn’t sure it was going to take place this year. I went 2018, WOW, should be on everyone’s bucket list to see these guys doing insane speeds down a street.
(sorry about thread drift)

if you go, have a beer on the front verandah of the Sulby hotel. You get bikes coming past at 180+ about 3 feet from your elbow. Also, the right handlers at the exit of Kirk Michael are spectacularly mental.

This bike talk reminds me of my Maths teacher at school. You only had to ask him a question about a particular bike and that was it then, bike talk for the rest of the maths class!
All this talk about sidetracking teachers reminds me of a certain Major Gardner, who taught me Scripture as it was then. We always tried to bait him about Communism, and once the torch was lit there was no stopping him. Ex WW2 and Korean War I think.
