Richard G is the chap to talk to ref MCV’s as he’s sold the most over recent years (including mine) and tracked the cars/market.

For the UK. Whereas, there was another LHD for sale in Lyon earlier in the year.
Think I recognise where the photos were taken. Seems it is for sale with a Paris agency now.

Interesting to see what it goes for as yes they did go up for sale for 70k last time we saw one but the market has changed massively since then.

The MC V is the ultimate car of that 3200/4200/GS shape and quite rare.
I've had the opportunity to sit in and be driven in this car and it drives very well. It sounds good too, I think it has aftermarket exhaust on but whether they are larini or not I'm not sure.

Yes Miles took us out while we were in LeMans and if I remember correctly he felt he had lowered the suspension a bit too much as it was scraping some road undulations. A very nice car though in all respects.

It was on standard exhaust at the time, I assume that what’s on it now has been added after it was sold.

It was a lovely car to be driven around in for that trip, it was a while ago now though so DYOR!

From the auction website:

"during the vendor’s ownership it has had a sonorous Larini sports exhaust system installed, resulting in a superior sound from the powertrain. The original factory-supplied exhaust is still with the car, and is included in the sale."

Doesn't say if it's a complete system or a number of components though.

Surely 'superior sound' is a matter of opinion :)

At least the factory stock system is still with the car.

I have not read the full ad yet but was the suspension modified or standard system lowered as suggested above?

I’m not sure it was lowered, it scraped the exhaust on a heavily cambered road with 4 people in it. And as we know the car is lower than a std GS.

I very much doubt it will make anywhere near that figure. The market has dipped, and this car has more miles and owners than the most valuable ones. Still, I’m surprised to see it being auctioned as opposed to sold via an appropriate dealer. Does that in itself tell us something? Possibly, possibly not.

I think you’re right Ewan... it is surprising to see such a rare car being auctioned.

I also think there’s a few little things about this car that may put off people off. This includes the rust bubble on the rear light. Will still be very interesting to see what it goes for...

I suspect it will go to a trade buyer who will give it a makeover and deal with the rust, then advertise it with a suitable description and very healthy mark up.

Stunning car, nothing untoward, will need rear wing painting and a service buts that’s all. Full Larini system.

That looks fantastic & in the scheme of Maserati ownership, the paint under the tail light is not something that would put me off, they will probably all need doing at some point. Sooner that than a sub frame or an end float issue

I’ve registered on the auction site and will be watching with interest. I suspect it may be a step too far for my basic man maths calculator, but it’s a lovely looking car, and the number plate is pretty special in an understated way...

Having sat in one recently I think the MC-12 seats and the blue speckled carbon fiber make it a very nice place to be. I’m also told that the steering rack makes them better to drive than a Gransport by some margin...

However, I think it’s a bold decision to auction it, and it’s interesting that the buyer pays all the auction premium of 6%. That means if it sells for £50k++, there’s an extra £3k added to the price...
