Phew! Glad I don't do red cars!

Are they ruinously expensive to run? Please please please say yes!

C

Nope ;)

Certainly a lot less than a Maserati. Check out Aston Martin Fixed Priced Servicing as a guide. And not much breaks on them.

I find the DB9 just a bit big, similar to the GTS hence why I like the Vantage. A v12 Vantage is way too rich for me as are the later 4.7 V8 cars but a nicely priced Manual 4.3 with a few sensible tweaks is fantastic, great value and awesome looks

12 of them and a lot of labour but not a concern until 70K miles. I own both marques and can say the Aston has cost me a lot less and been a lot easier to service, just taking into account basic servicing by the book. If you are buying new and go through the cost of ownership over the first 4 years you will see a big difference also. Then if something does break and you need a part the gulf gets wider again. It is what it is and it wouldn't influence my choice but that is my experience.

Its funny because the Aston Martin DBS did a 1 minute 24 around the top gear track with a V12 engine. This was a full second slower than the Mc Stradale which only has a v8.

Faster than the thoroughly modern, if smaller engined Supra MK5 too.

If you watch the video of the lap, the strad looks smooth and composed, almost slow, which of course is always the fastest way around for a great driver and car. The albeit faster amg black (another factory skunkworks, as is the original strad) looks slower and all over the place.

There are some similarly amazing stradale lap times on that same webpage on different circuits. It was not a flukey lap.

My experience as well. Nothing broken in 2 years and each 4200 service at an Indie was way more expensive than the DB9 at a main dealer.

God I'm thinking I can scratch two itches at once...

I'm not hearing any reasons why I wouldn't get one, other than my personal onese
  1. I loved my GT
  2. I probably would miss the back seats...

I considered an Aston as an alternative to the GT and very quickly got to no as:

1 - the rear seats on 2 door Astons are a joke
2 - the 4 door Astons are super ugly
