The other changes (and to me, improvements) which the 4 seaters have are the thicker steering wheel, the more modern headlamps and the carbon bonnet with the extra, Trofeo inspired central scoop. All big pluses in my book but yes, the original seats are way better. I almost swapped mine out for the original seats when a pair became available but they were just a bit too expensive for me to justify. I may revisit this and see if they are still available & a little cheaper now, they are fantastic!

Ok I’ll add my twopennethworth....

Engineering aside, as they are identical, you have to look at what use you require.

If it’s mainly you and a passenger go 2 seater.

If you have a young family and it’s used more frequently buy a 4 seater.

Values of both have aligned now.

So future values, if your planning on holding.

2 seater is:
Rare’er
Lighter
Better trimmed
Makes no sense at all to be a two sester
Is Italian
Is a thoroughbred
Is mad as a box of frogs
Is a Maserati

Ergo it will go up in value

Vs 4 seater
Is less rare
Makes sense as a 4 seater
Is Italian
Is a thoroughbred
Is mad as a box of frogs
Is a Maserati

Ergo is will hold well on residuals.

So in summary, the 4 seater is the GranSport of GT’s and the 2 seater is the MCV

Spot on!

Can anyone say with confidence what will happen to values in the next few years.
The only certainty is that forum crystal ball gazing has proven to be inaccurate.

In money terms, no.
In the value of enjoyment which is so much more important - it will surely only increase

You buy Maserati for the enjoyment/fun driving experience and not as a investment car. If it holds a certain residual its a bonus. Ferrari and Lamborghini are the ones that seem to hold strong values on cars. I noticed with the LP640 from 2 years ago its gone 50k pounds up. It used to be in the 120's now in the 170's.

When it's all said and done, why would you want anyone else bar the driver, in a stripped down track focused car?

This car should be appreciated for what I think it was intended to be, a 2 seater hardcore variant of the GT.

Edit: after all, all that mighty weight saving will be for nothing if another piece of organic human is present!

I'd only agree that Ferrari and Lamborghini retain value if they don't accumulate mileage, in general at least.

I have a close friend that owns one of only 8 Murcielago LP640 in manual ever made. It’s more than doubled since he bought it and is now worth £250k. The rarity, gearbox and fact it’s viewed as the last Lambo before heavy Audi influence make it something very special.

If my lotto numbers come in, I will make him an offer he can’t refuse. Love it dearly!

Nice has he let you take it for a spin? Its my dream car too, love the Bat wings and the sound of the Bizzarrini V12. Now the paddle shift LP640's have creeped into 170's pound past the beat up Aventador's price. The LHD seems to be the only market thats cheaper for the Murcielargo currently. VVS seem to control majority of the uk market price.
