1.66% heavier or half a tank of fuel. I do agree the 2 seater is rarer, the special seats, possible roll cage etc. The 4 is far more practical, and the USP of the GT is 4 adult seats which means the 2 seat is rendered pointless from a real world point of view for the vast majority of buyers. The low numbers is because of this; chicken and egg.

I’d have a 4, as I wouldn’t ever use a 2. If you have a 2, it obviously works for you, but surely a 4 seater would too.

All of which confirms what we always knew...

that the Gransport MC-V is the absolute pinnacle and very best of both worlds :)

Having owned both, I wouldn't swap my 2-seat Strad for my old MC-V. Just saying.

My comment was tongue in cheek of course, if the Stradale was not the better car then there would be something badly wrong. Strad is a wonderful thing. The MC-V you could still argue is the better package and has that indefinable X-Factor though. I have driven both and would take MC-V (Strad would win if it was a daily though).

In a way Maserati made the choice really difficult since the cars are such good 4-Seaters unlike most 2+2 alternatives where you may as well throw the rear seats in the bin, making any such 2 seat variants more special. That said, I would have a 2 seat Strad rather than 4 seat if I were in the market for one.

I agree - I’ve not driven an MC-V (yet), but have driven a (4 seat) Stradale.

The jump from a normal Granturismo to a Stradale is significant - and the Strad feels much sportier, much more special, much tighter and more together... this means the steering, suspension, throttle response, and noise are all on a different level.

However, at the end of the day a Stradale is still an effing big car... and whilst it would be awesome for long distance journeys, or for occasional use where the focus is on the theatre of it all, I think it’s slightly flawed for winding UK roads and country lanes.

Would still love to own one if I had an unlimited car garage, but if I was given £60-65k and could only pick one or the other, I personally would pick an MC-V

Seems like they have to be a bargain full stop to get people looking these days. Very limited market and most people seem to go to dealers like Dicky to ensure its the safest buy possible.

I've seen it and had it on my drive while I washed and waxed it :cool:. IT is a stunning colour Dec ca

There was also a yellow 4 seater with a blue interior which was specced by Marshall Oxford and bought in by them as stock for re-sale. They had it for sale for around 9 months I believe as an unregistered car before they were absorbed by Marshall Peterborough who eventually sold it last year I believe. The yellow looked incredible to me but the blue interior, not so much

Yes, remember that one Stu....The blue was an Aquired taste but in the pictures it didn't look bright blue so was so bad. I saw the car I Swindon about 8 months ago.

Ok I’ll add my twopennethworth....

Engineering aside, as they are identical, you have to look at what use you require.

If it’s mainly you and a passenger go 2 seater.

If you have a young family and it’s used more frequently buy a 4 seater.

Values of both have aligned now.

So future values, if your planning on holding.

2 seater is:
Rare’er
Lighter
Better trimmed
Makes no sense at all to be a two sester
Is Italian
Is a thoroughbred
Is mad as a box of frogs
Is a Maserati

Ergo it will go up in value

Vs 4 seater
Is less rare
Makes sense as a 4 seater
Is Italian
Is a thoroughbred
Is mad as a box of frogs
Is a Maserati

Ergo is will hold well on residuals.

So in summary, the 4 seater is the GranSport of GT’s and the 2 seater is the MCV

I'd like a 4 seater, although I'm probably not going to be able to afford it. But there seem to be fewer of them on the market, anyway. Which is odd if they are more common?

Over the last few years there have generally been more 4 seaters for sale than 2 seaters. Typically, at any one time, you might see 3 or 4 of the 4 seaters and 1 or 2 of the 2 seaters. So, while not exactly commonplace, they are available. And there’s always the option by buying a non-advertised car, direct from a current owner (as I did).

I had my GT-S for a year and used the back seats once. And similarly I’ve only used the back seats of my GC-MC once in the year I’ve had that car. So for me, the 2 seat Strad makes more sense, with the added sense of occasion and the Enzo/MC-V front seats being all important (and the better chance of long term appreciation).

Oh I know the 2 seater makes sense, but I like to have the option of taking the car even if I know I need to carry Mrs C and someone else....
