I was offered the car last summer before the current owner bought it. Shame it didn’t have an MD service til its fourth birthday but it’s not a deal breaker. I was put off by the stereo but looks like it could all be reverted to standard. Could be a good value car for someone.

Saw it this morning and thought that looked good value. Perhaps the service bit is why. If you get the car checked over and all is fine and it has had services after that 4th year 1st one don’t see why it will not be a decent car. Buy it a keep it then the 1st service after 4 years doesn’t really matter.

Servicing has always amazed me that these high end manufacturers charge a small fortune for what is basically the same service that you get on a normal car. Yes I get oil changes may have more expensive oils and spark plugs may be lined with gold off a unicorns horn but if you are servicing a normal car or supercar you check the same things surely. Servicing has always been a cash cow for these highend manufactures. When I had my 3200 Maserati gave me a good deal apparently as my car was older so a great reduced rate for a medium service…£1600….Taking the rise as I got it done and a specialist for £650 and they did exactly the same as Maserati would do and use Maserati parts etc.

the worst experience I've had was Porsche saying that I needed full set of brake pads and discs at 20k miles, cost of 2300 pounds.
obviously I declined. didn't get done till around 40k for the pads and discs lasted to 50k.

It would’ve been the second keeper. But yes, it’s never ceases to amaze me the false economy of saving £200-300 to devalue the car by £5k.

That is a bit weird Dicky. Who is John Roland Maserati as no search brings him up. I could understand the later services but the first one does seem odd. Suppose it is only one though as then Maserati looked after it after that so you would hope it’s been well look after from then.

It’s John Holland Sales in Sheffield, not a Maserati specialist, just a big sales site who obviously service the odd car.

I think some people like a car and if it looks in good nick and no warning lights dont bother getting it serviced

It wouldn't put me off. 6th owner would raise alarm bells. It looks cheap. Get it PPI'd and get a legend
