In this months Auto Italia Maserati has confirmed new record UK sales in April of 148 cars with 523 for the year so far a 65% increase on last year. It also reported positive results across Europe with sales increasing by 20% over the same period.

The Ghibli Diesel also received a major mark of approval in the corporate market and was also named "best company car in Germany" in direct competition with the German cars and in the import category. The award was based on a sample of 270 fleet managers.

Thanks.

It is good for all of us that Maserati is doing well.

It will be interesting to see how Maserati update the diesel engine specifically for Euro6 from 1st September and then the introduction of a twin turbo engine.

I will not buy a diesel Maserati but they need to be competitive in this sector and a 320/340PS engine is needed to compete with the 535d.

The UK and Germany used to be Maserati's biggest market but now Italy has taken over with the introduction of the Ghibli and QP diesel....Europe has taken these cars to heart.

...as we all knew they would. They just need to now sort out the power output of the V6 petrol engines as they are a bit below par these days.

Only in the pretty tiny European sales figures Andy - USA and China are both massively larger than the European market for Maserati now; it would barely put a dent in eBit if they didn't sell another car in Europe; we aren't important to them now.

Given the environmental swing away for diesel saving the world (due to its cancer causing particulates) and the increased strangulation of the engines to reduce these emissions with filters etc...how long until we see a swing away from the devils fuel?

Yes Drew, China and USA are the biggest markets by far.........Far East and China take mostly white cars and the USA mostly black cars....Bit of useless info there.

Agree completely. If my GranTurismo disappears then a Ghibli S would replace it. Not that I want it to happen mind!

And that's why we aren't going to get anywhere with the suspension arm issue ...basically Fiat are just not interested in old cars!
