This is a Duo Select, which has the dry sump engine, so isn't affected by the variator issue that plagued the wet-sump cars with the ZF gearbox up to a particular engine # in 2009.
I’d forgotten that. So the duo-selects have the best engine and the best gearbox. Double win!

Correct, and the Sport GT Duo Select with the latest gearbox software changes very smoothly. Avoids the expensive brake discs fitted to the GTS too. Only worry is the cost of changing the clutch, which will probably be due on this car. I had mine done at about 34k miles as the release bearing was past its best (made a noise on first use when cold).

Software upgrades? How do i access this hocus pocus? I have a 2005 duo QPV that drags bit in first gear that I’m sure can be improved.

"they all do that sir" :D Mine is 2006 Sport GT and no complaints about gearchange.

I was told that ECU controls power and clutch engagement in first gear at lower revs specifically to protect the drivetrain. For years I have been short-shifting to second before full throttle. Recently gone back to using first gear and noticed this "slurring effect". Once revs are about 4000 my car really hooks up so guess clutch is fully engaged. Ya-hooo!

I tend to omit spaces to help with search, but its interesting to see that maybe it is:

VO06ERJ not V006ERJ

good point about spaces Mark :). the difference between capital letter Oh and numeric zero is a perpetual rake in the garden of my working life as IT admin. The name of server often includes integer and alphabetic characters.

MOT check page is sensitive to letter / number so it is vo06erj

You wouldn't know it if you looked at it!

DVLA Personalised Reg site seems to make absolutely no visual distinction between O and 0
This is VO06 according to them

Those making number plates clearly have no detailed IT experience then. (why would they!) Guessing they stock many more number than letters and to most it make zero difference

I think if I had been creating the data structure I would have excluded both or one of the pairs: O 0 I 1 B 8 S 5, and probably some others to create clarity. But I suppose we would have missed out on some nice combinations.

Lovely colour combo on this one. Still find it odd that knackered front tyres have been left on there for 4 years though.
