Cheers c4sman, it's been quite a ride, in every sense, so far. Mine is a MC Auto Shift, spent first day in auto, then auto sport, next manual, yesterday manual sport and today the experience became metaphysical with manual sport MC Shift. I may sleep in it tonight!

Just FYI, if you have the R and 1 buttons (which I think you said you did) on the centre console, you have a MC Shift. The autos of all types have a stick in the middle.

Confusing, I have the transmission buttons, no gear stick, but can drive it as an auto or deselect auto and use the paddles, with MC Shift mode appearing when I start thrashing it. Does that make it a MC Shift?

My spec seems to tally with the THE AUTOMATED MANUAL TRANSAXLE in this article:

Yup. It’s a MC Shift automated manual that has a full auto mode. Most use it in manual mode on the paddles all the time (and in sport mode for faster cleaner shifts and a loud exhaust)

To be fair my drive to work when living on the West coast of New Zealand in Wanganui was pretty good and no traffic either.
