For the last 2 weeks I've received the "Parking sensors unavailable" when selecting reverse.

Do i need to pay the extortianate Genuine Maserati parts price or can I use Fiat parts? As I am seeing conflicting suggestions online!
Also if anyone knows an auto electrician near york who could fit them that would be great!

They can be found online cheaper, but I was unable to find an alternative. Doesn't need an electrician, just a competent spannerer

Same part as Skoda Superb, believe it or not. Maserati price = £125. Skoda part = £14.99

I'm assuming 2002-2008 which makes it even cheaper from ebay

At £10.95 I might just buy one :)

They're so fragile, it's probably worth having one or two in stock, pre-painted and ready to fit.

Would love to know if these work and how easy they are to fit.

My rear sensors are playing up. The fronts work until I move into reverse and then it gives the parking system unavailable error. As I have an auto I can't move into drive until I switch through reverse - so the fronts are effectively down too! :-(

I had to replace one thanks to a kind lady bumped into the back of me. Works fine. Looks same. Exact same part number stamped into the plastic on the replacement one as was on the damaged one. The same unit is fitted to Ferrari F430 .. lol

I got mine from Amazon.

Part numbers as above post, PDC Parking Distance Sensor 3U0919275A 3U0919275B

How do you tell if its a sensor? I have the dash warning but none of the sensors seem to detect anything front or rear. Is it a control unit fault?

To be sure you need the SD software. You might be able to do the old test where you get an assistant to firmly hold the car on the brake then you listen to each one in turn (or rest your finger on it) you can hear and feel the pulses. Of course, the entire lot might get turned off, but if one is silent and the rest are clicking away, there's your thing

I had same problem and it was damp in the unit in the boot. Got it fixed by an auto electrician quite cheaply
