Pricey. The last Cup sold was at auction and went for half that. Good fun though, as a rare track-only car.

The last open cup I saw was for sale in Aus and was £100,000. I’ve never seen a UK Open Cup on the market.

As far as I know there are only two Open Cup cars in the UK. The Meridien one, plus one owned by a Maser Club member. Most of the other 25 or so cars built are still in mainland Europe, but I’ve seen at least two in Aus.

But that one wasn’t raced, was it? I think it was a development car, or similar. As chance would have it I’ll be at the restorers later today so I’ll ask.

The car under restoration never raced. It was used as a demo, but then, when Ferrari cancelled the Ghbili Open Cup in 1996, it was converted to road spec to sell. It’s now being converted back to its original race spec.

Ach, that's the price of a pizza and a beer in Norway. Seriously.
I went for a job on an oil trade journal. £32k a year one year into your career when you’re on £12k meant I actually flew to Oslo for a job interview.
After a £49 rump steak and a £12 pint, I was informed of the 50 per cent tax rate...

On other Ghibli II news...

Fitted with a 365bhp Open Cup engine. More details when it was unsold four years ago.

One that looks rather like it on Enrico's site sporting an enormous rear wing.
