Planning to do one later in the year. 2 days of one to one tuition with Maserati driving instructors, ragging their cars, including accommodation breakfast and dinner. Can't wait. And somebody I know that's done it said it was fantastic and worth every penny.........

The total bill for us to hire the Autodromo di Modena last September was 4 grand in round numbers. Private use of the race track...

Not at all... I was trying to show it the other way round - hiring exclusive use of a track is expensive. Two days hire of Modena, plus instructors, without them supplying cars would run to over 20 grand, and you'd still have to find the hotels.

Very nice, however for a fraction of the price you would learn more on a circuit training day using these guys:

http://www.carlimits.com/

Done a couple, the last at Blyton Park in my Maser.

EDIT: In fact do a carlimits circuit training day first and you would enjoy the Maserati driving course more, bit like learning to ski on an artificial ski slope then doing it on the real thing!

I get that there are cheaper options, but I like the idea of making all my mistakes on someone else's GTS and then coming back and not trashing mine. I know there are a lot of good instructors out there, but these guys should be the best on Maserati, no?

I'm not aware of any alternatives that use the GT-S as a track car.

Of course, if one of you guys wants to lend me yours?...................

We did all that Italian race circuit stuff 17 years ago with the Auto Italia mag with Phil Ward and co

You'd turn up in the morning, have a thrash around for a few pics, then sit round all day, you couldn't drink, just in case they needed another shot!

I'm with you Jon. And, inevitably, people will place different values on this kind of thing

Are you the new David Bailey? You do realise that being overweight and having ill-fitting trousers isn't really sufficient to claim the similarity?

As you speak from first hand experience I shall defer to your superior knowledge on the matter.
