Seen the odd post about this place of late.

A Marshall Motor Holdings Maserati brand manager has been jailed for 14 months after diverting almost £200,000 of luxury car sales payments into his personal bank account...

All for £63k, probably a year's wages. , now he's going to miss 20 years wages as he not going to get a similar position. Collateral damage would be house, marriage etc

Why do people risk it?

My thoughts exactly.

You know that 99 times out 100 you are going to get caught and do time, so you have to make it worthwhile surely!

Fraud ain't worth it unless you're looking at millions. Would you do, say 2.5 years out of a 5 term for £10m?
Gotta be worth thinking about....

Let's say 50% risk of 7 months in jail for £63,000 - would be worth it for some people.

'Jail'.......................A building with heating/Hot food and drink/television/proper bed etc. etc. that we are paying for!!..............Some homeless people would be very grateful for!!

And as the crime was committed in Peterborough, he will be going to HMP Peterborough.
Which is the nicest prison I've ever been in. I've stayed in worse hotels than that prison. Carpeted walkways, tv, radio, Playstation/X-Box in every cell, a menu to order your food for the week.

Be the easiest time he'll ever do.

I've had a great idea! Why not write a program that takes all the rounding up and down in financial transactions and stashes them away!

Bet nobody ever though of that.

We have to remember, the only people with an objective view of crime are those who immerse themselves everyday in it. The police!
Those who commit crimes are relatively new to it.

Ah, that would explain his short stay at Marshall. I had a good conversation with him soon after he arrived at Marshall and was told several months later that he had moved on - incredible!
