good stuff, you must be well pleased to get it sorted, it's a great feeling when finally getting a lengthy problem sorted on a motor

Great work, what was wrong with it?

Take it ECU issues and sourcing of the correct replacement?

Love the colour, works well on it.

By the looks of the old ecu it suffered water ingress. The link to the ecu from the cooling fans was causing the hot start problem. The other issue is the keys lost connectivity and the car was immobilized and nothing I could do to could get the keys synced back up. Once the ecu was replaced with one with the correct part number. Not an easy task on a pre OBD car with three pin plug. Basically replaced all of it and she fired right up. I’ve not had a chance to get a proper run in it. Just to end end of the street and back. There will no doubt be other things to do on it but least it’s moving. :)

Well that’s the car officially back on the road. It’s in for MOT as we speak. Big service and Cambelt done yesterday. Couple of small niggles. Two of the boomerang LEDs are out causing the indication lamp to flash fast on the dash but not flashing fast on the outside. And rev counter not working but apart from that it’s running and driving perfect. Just need the lock down to be lifted and I can get out in it. I do need to do a supermarket run so I guess that will be my mode of transport.

Excellent news! Well done, you must be chuffed!
For info, Four years ago I had to take the driver rear boomerang apart to reglue it since it was seperating at the seam, seemed to be working ok after that as well so don't know if it is that one or not and might need reglue do again?. As I said, no idea re the Rev counter, that is new to me but given what you have got sorted..........I'm sure you will get it fixed with your eyes shut now! ;)
Re using her to go your tesco run......careful, she is infectious to drive once you Start! Lol

With the rev counter my money would be on a loose connection at the back of the instrument cluster. They’re a bit naff.
