That's why I love your man-maths calculator. It's a marvel of engineering. Reminds me of the turbine room in a nuclear power station, just awe-inspiring. If you ever buy a stupid and unjustifiable car (other than the daily and hündwagen) without spending more than is necessary than I'll assume you've decommissioned the thing and sealed it to prevent nuclear leaks. That would be a sad day.

PS - for looks alone, I'd try to justify the extra for a Cali T over the NA. The inside of the NA looks very dated now, and the big ar5e to accommodate the roof is not attractive.

PPS - back on topic shocker, Wheelybin, have a listen to this. It was a damp and slithery day so no full chat but it's a lovely noise:

Lovely!!

Does it not sound so good normally? This is what I enjoy about my QP so would miss the aural aspects

They sound wonderful but lack the burble and rumble of the Maserati V8. For best noise appreciation you'd need the Roadster, but I personally prefer the look of the coupe. You should watch this:

and this, come to think of it:

I am erring from my ways like a lost sheep; I’ve been considering upgrading from my QPVGTS to a MC Stradale but my eye has been caught by an Aston martin manual Vantage V12. Anyone else suffered this affliction and followed through or otherwise? I feel bad for even thinking about leaving Maserati

Don't feel guilty...Leave, buy only and stay on here and post loads of picture...The only car I want in my life......That's one **** of an upgrade over you lovely QP....Don't think about it just do it.....

By the way the one in Cheltenham looks a decent price...and its a Carbon Black edition.....Nice.......Make sure you come past my work in Gloucester it you buy her...Very jealous...

Is it the Mako Blue one? Bloody gorgeous. I’m in love with my V12V, albeit a SportShift, but Mrs Cud thinks it’s silly and has too few seats. Countering with an observation that it’s arguably got one more than necessary is ill-advised. Anyway, it’s a wonderful, wonderful car.

(does that help?)

That Mako blue one looks the business Adam..Colou an acquired taste I'm sure ...But I have acquired that taste. Looks great in the last picture by the plane.

This looks a good value one at 66k and a few less ones...If you don't mind buying private that is.....Probably that little extra for a car with an Aston Martin warranty is worth it though.

Like any car, if you buy privately then you're taking more of a risk. I'd only do that if it came with the balance of a warranty or I knew I could put a good warranty on it. The AM one is around £2.5k pa, iirc, Warrantywise maybe 70% of that, so offset that cost into the savings. What I like about AM is that (unlike other manufacturers), the main dealers will happily buy and sell older cars as well. They don't just ignore anything over three years old. My point is, you're not limited to indie dealers or the private market to get an Aston which might be a few years old. You are still paying a premium, of course, but aftercare is excellent (in my limited experience and based on feedback from others).

I would suggest OP does not rule out Mako Blue from photographs but sees it in the flesh and in different lights. Great colour and was the launch colour for the V12S

Ah, cheers guys. Appreciate the comments. Got 20% approval from the other half, which I’m leveraging to put a deposit down on this bad boy

I’ve asked for 2 years warranty included just for piece of mind

I moved from Maserati to a facelift DB9 about 6 months ago - basically a renamed Virage with a few further improvements. The V12 is magnificent, but a little quiet as standard. However, I had the AM GT upgrade done which takes power up to 550bhp and includes a sports exhaust. It now sounds perfect without being obnoxiously loud - possibly now the best sounding car I’ve ever owned. And the performance is epic - just spent two days with some friends blasting around Snowdonia and never enjoyed driving a car more. I’m really enjoying the brand too, although I echo Adam’s comment that it could do with a forum with a bit more life in it! And I too love the fact that they fully respect their heritage

Normally I’m fairly immune to Astons and red cars but the red V12 Vantage at DK Engineering is quite something

That is lovely..They have had it for an age.....If you look at others for sale though it looks over priced with its mileage. I think 69k to 72k sounds right and although I like the colour its not well loved which is why there aren't many.
