Lumbar support

The passenger seat in my 4200 has a busted lumbar support. I can hear the motor working away when I push the switch to raise or lower it however the lumbar support does not push out of the seat into ones back. Slightly annoying!

I have tried the reset procedure many times but it does not help... I think it is has somehow become detached from the motor/actuator any ideas how I can fix it please?

It is part no 4... Wondering how I can get to it...

Assuming the backrest cushion part will pry off with some gentle persuasion?

I'm sure this was covered before when i asked and it seems the cover has to be removed from the back of the seat, sounds a lot of work from what i remember.

I took my passenger seat apart to sort some thing similar. I took the seat out first its a lot more obvious once you get the seat upside down. You kind of push the edge strip at the very bottom of the back of the seat, and it comes off the steel edge that it is hooked over right along the length of the seat. Once you get that bit out of the way there are some screws and it all comes apart to some degree.

Thank you both. Sounds like a job for the winter then. I'll pop up a post with some photos on this thread when I get round to doing it

Winter is nearly here! lol

I was speaking to a Ferrari Maserati technician at an indi a couple of weeks ago while he was sorting something on my car and I brought up this issue. He said that for the lumbar support it is possible to only peel away the back cushion while plying open the metal retaining clips in order to get to the lumbar support - he said it is much easier than taking the seat apart completely which involves peeling the leather back.

When reinstalling he said to use cable ties instead of new metal clips and the old ones will be too bent out of shape to use again. I become a little intrigued and pulled away the backrest cushion on the drivers side enough to see in to find cable ties retaining it - seems as though drivers side lumbar has been looked at already but not the passenger side.
