Sounds like a mini meet in the neck of the woods is on the cards...Plough at Kelmscote or The Bell at Sapperton or the place in Colwyn St Martin anyone???

Any of the above. Give us a month to get the car on the road though :)

I have a factory set for the 4200 which is nice. However I also have a Antler set which fits just as well.

Go to the Antler shop in Swindon Retail village and try a few case combinations and I am sure you will be able to get a selection the maximise the boot space.

Thanks for the tip Peter. Smoojged down there this afternoon with Jacquie.

Anter and Samsonite outlets near each other.

In the end chose traditional subtle canvas ones from Samsonite.

Jacquie decided that we could manage with one full size and two holdall type.

So one semi - rigid large and two semi-soft large bags.
Despite having measured, the two holdalls had to be swapped for smaller ones.... wheel arches.

So nicely sorted. If others are interested I'll take a pic in situ, separate and what versions

I was quite pleased with the look and fit of my retro luggage over the weekend (apart from the crappy plastic bag).

I can't get my Fender Electric XII in the boot as the case is too long, same for my Shergold Marathon 6 bass. So I'm taking my Gretsch and maybe the Rickenbacker 360/12 to Ireland for next job. Plus VOX 10amp practice amp, no idea what I'm going to do re: clothes 'n' shît....

I suppose my short telecaster bass would fit in; haven't tried.

Nope, just some random luggage crammed in.

When I say random luggage....
  • A Hartmann Tweed 1970s suitcase (I bought two really nice ones on eBay recently).
  • A Hartmann Tweed and leather suit carrier (also used, but not really vintage)
  • A modern Hartman rolling case (also used), which happens to fit nicely on one edge
and under that a crappy plastic bag, and a nice box of wine given to me by my sons.

Short scale? The Shergold is a 30" scale so that's short but bridge position makes it longer...

Yes, a knock-off copy of a Fender Telecaster short scale 4-string bass that I bought in 1972 for £20, and still don't really know how to operate.

But I'm pretty confident I would be able to play the bass if I had a Rickenbacker 4003S. :)

The Rick is a 34" scale though - no way will it fit in a QP boot....
