I think reading through this, it was once Loz's 4200? The seller doesn't do himself any favours IMO

I think it is as the number plate certainly was on Loz's………...Sounds like it isn't worth 11500 from the advert.....You could get a sorted one for that or a few more K's surely....

Hard to tell but looking at the pics it looks as if it’s had a dodgy respray. The paint looks flat. Maybe why the bonnet has micro blisters. Maybe worth a punt at 6k as a project but no more than that.

These ads that bash the 4200s unreliability as an attempt at being funny has been vastly overdone.

Too many people get suckered in thinking they are like a CLK 55 or M3 in terms of maintenance. Then they find out how wrong they are because of the low production numbers of these versus the comparatively mass market German cars.

I'm sure Marios would advise anyone if they were interested having done that much work on it.

So you buy a project car on the insurance register then moan about it being a project!
Might be worth a look if you’re handy with the spanners and have free time

What did he expect? These are never viable unless you can do the work yourself.
It all depends on where you purchase it and how much you are willing to pay for it. I was specifically looking for a 4200 and bought one from Nuvola. Nariman knew what I was looking for, one came in, he contacted me and I went down and bought it. New clutch, Full service history, 12 months warranty, and the reassurance of buying it from someone with a good reputation. I have not had a problem with it to this day.

Yep, definitely Loz's old car. He bought it as a cat car and repaired it....It looked lovely once he had finished it...but that was I think in around 2009ish.image.jpeg

Why would you buy a project if you cannot do some of the work yourself? And why would you spend over 10k on a cat c that I imagine would struggle to command 10k if all was spot on!

Wasn’t this offered for parts by someone on behalf of their brother last year? And it got a bit argy bargy?
