I'm kind of scared to ask. What are the brown things on sticks?
Yes, I thought for a moment that the 'item' at five o'clock must be a corn dog/puppy.
I guess that the nod to reheating more nutritious meals is NOT to cover everything in
cheese ;)

Things on sticks are corn dogs. US thing https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_dog

The “puppy” things are battered prawns it’s just the way they’ve fallen on the plate, no cheese was harmed anywhere!

I'm out of the country but reports on Twitter seem to say there were some sonic boom type noises heard all over the country.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...us-noises-military-denies-RAF-jets-cause.html

Anyone hear them?

When I listened to the mobile phone clip it sounded like a combination of MAF's and Benny's cars when backing off throttle :)

Say that within three feet of an Irish person and don't forget to duck! ;)

Well, in a sense, I think the Irish don't think of potatoes as vegetables, but as just potatoes. In a sort of 'meat and two veg, plus potatoes' sort of way.

I ordered a cottage pie in a Tipperary cafe and it came with boiled potatoes and chips on the plate, and then they brought a dish of carrots and beans separately.

According to the Ms that’d be triple carbs and totally unacceptable!

Nope it’s not ok, yep I’m confused too. What do you have with lasagna?

I still only get 3

Well you have chips with lasagna. Which has pasta so that's double carbs :)

Mash on the cottage pie
Chips
Boiled
Carrots (as most root veg are) are pretty starchy. ;)

Regular home town (Hull) trip and chose visit aquarium "The Deep", where sadly we decided to eat. The 'dinner ladies" took pity on my poor "vegetarian daughter" who had zero choice from the hot buffet. Bustling biddy appeared a few minutes later with Veg lasagne and garlic bread (fair enough) with rice and chips. No room for anything else on the plate but they were carrying a baked potato and insistent we "take it anyway". Suspect they had some specialist training in nutritional content targeted at the "northerner" in particular. At no point was anyone offered bread and butter with our meal!
