Vulcan was front engined, basically a trick DB9.

I’d say the thing that broke down a lot at Goowood was an F1 car for the road. This is more a Ferrari 488 competitor.

Not sure about the naming. It’s not very British, Victor, Valiant, Vernon or Vicar would be better: “Introducing the Aston Martin Vicar, an acceptable and inoffensive car for a Sunday, if you want fire and brimstone go see the Italians”

Probably a different league to the 488 as it is priced between 600 and 700k.

New V12 Vantage RS?

Yep saw that Adam…..That’s rather exciting. They did say they wouldn’t put a V12 in the new Vanatge but looks like that may change. Hard to see though how much more performance you could get as the V8 hits 60 in 3.6 seconds and pulls like a train. Much more would be to much for my little brain to compute….Or maybe not.

It's reported to be around 300-350k. Think latest-gen GT12. If it still has that hateful interior as they use now they can shove it at any price. If they can make it look like a sports car inside as well as out and the price is more realistic then I can imagine it being a success.

Right so not a V12 S replacement then. A limited run to make lots of money if those serial Aston buyers who have a GT8, GT12 etc already in their collection. I love the interior in your car but must say after driving the new Vantage I didn’t dislike the new interior. Yours in more classy inside though.

The inside of the new Vantage is easy enough to get used to. I mean, it's not unintuitive, but it looks badly thought through and messy. And I hate stick-on screens. And the infotainment is dated as h3ll.

I hope this new version will be more than a limited-run over-priced 'special'. It should take on the GT3 and be priced accordingly. Reality is. the V12 is much heavier than the V8 so for real performance they'd use the V8 again but in a higher state of tune.

It's hard to know exactly where this thing is being targeted... which probably makes it a perfect candidate as a limited-run special aimed at people with large pockets and a habit of collecting new cars.

Still, I like the exterior. Needs finessing but it looks a few steps ahead of other Vantage models.

Can see a bit of 6 series shape in that photo, I don't think the new Vantage is a patch on the earlier version in the looks dept.

The old Vantage has been one of my favourite looking cars ever, and if I didn't need 4 seats, I'd have one now. But the new one I just cant like that front end.

The new DBS Superleggera I think is one if the best looking cars on sale full stop. Gorgeous.

This new V12 Vantage appears to be using a DBS front end, which is definitely better than the current Vantage, but not a patch on the DBS.

I was having a play on the new configurator. Exterior is lovely, the seats look… a little, shall we say, a little overstyled? Not a fan of chopped carbon either…

I know lots don’t like it because of the front end. The last Vantage was and still is one of the most beautiful cars ever made for me. Perfect shape. But I also love the new one and even more so now I have driven one. It’s a more aggressive shape from all angles and when I see one in the flesh it just looks so squat the way the front dips down low as if it’s swollowing up the road. It is a very different car to the old one and performance wise in a different league and very accessible performance as well. But for those who don’t like the looks then that doesn’t matter.

A little something to enliven the loins of @Andyk

Yes that will do it…..Still not convinced it’s a V12 though. Perhaps more a GT8….Who knows. There was talk of a face lift for 2022 but seen as though they have just announced the latest changes to the range probably not. New configurator is much better also. Not that I am on it day and night..

Thanks Andy - there are only 9 Vanquish fitted with them apparently. I think most are 6-speed versions (the white press car and a Cobalt Blue I have seen and one in Germany. They are all completely different in their colour and detailing, so 9 unique cars.

I see Dick Lovett have a black Carbon Edition for sale with two carbon seats…50k on the clock.
