Looks like my GS starting issues will soon be fixed...

Sometimes it starts on the button, sometimes not. But the last 12 months it’s been a pig. So with the snow and ice gone, I kept trying on and off for 2 hours and finally it starts. The Maserati guys reckon it’s s dodgy clutch position sensor and it is booked in at the end of the month for a new clutch, sensors etc. So I think bugger it and drive to Stockholm. My car is the last through the workshop door at closing time. And now it won’t start so they finally get to diagnose it before they can get the ferraris out tomorrow. Job done.

Call by Ekerö and wish Agnetha Fältskog a happy 70th from me, and tell her I'd still do her.....

Tak så mycket......

An update on this. It turns out the signal from the starter button was not getting through to the gearbox ecu. The chap working on this then went to check the ecu and as soon as he moved it, it started. Cleaned the connectors, and ran a secondary wire through just in case there was a break in the loom. Hasn’t been as issue since.

Sometimes it's the simplest of things. Hopefully this gremlin won't reoccur.

No corrosion, but bizarrely, a bit of dust and I was told that sometimes, the plastic molded connections were not always cleaned of excess when manufactured.

And as a message of respect, Patrik and Gustaf at Autoropa in Stockholm have been nothing but excellent here in Sweden. I have heard stories of not trusting main dealers, but they treated my 14 year old GS like a brand new car.
