Agree.Arguably, the very first software on the very first cars MY02 are deemed the most desirable by some, being less 'soft' and more 'raw'!

Never driven a later cars to know how it differs from the basic traction control.I certainly prefer the simple traction control to the later ESP
Not expensive for a 56 plate and surely could be made a decent car if a deal could be agreed ?I have since spoken to the dealer selling this car, a 56 plate CC https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1618154
He wasn't completely transparent about how long it has been for sale - 2 years according to my research - and it was last serviced 3 years ago. Also has a pair of Zeta Alventi tyres which the dealer tried to sell as "decent tyres", all of which put me off. Shame as the last 7 MOTs are advisory-free and it has interesting retrofit sat nav + sunroof (!).
I am still keen on a nice 55 onwards reg CC which ticks the right boxes and I appreciate the budget is likely to be £12-14k. If you can think of one let me know!

I had that car around 13 years back. I saw it advertised in the trade the other day. I bought if from ex Leeds Utd centre half Jon Newsome.I pulled the trigger on a ’55 plate CC last Friday. 73k miles, silver over black leather, fully loaded (cruise, sensors, xenons, etc.), and both low tax and ULEZ-friendly, which was key for me.
Already covered 300 miles and so far so good. Interior needs work: saggy headliner and sticky buttons, though the leather is excellent for the mileage. Exterior is near perfect, just a loose rear bumper grille.
No PPI, but it had ~23% clutch wear in June, has a full history, and had spark plugs plus accessory belt done last year. Needs two rear tyres, and I’ll book a post-purchase check for peace of mind. It's a risk, but it looks to have been well maintained.
Questions:
- Any recommended businesses to fix the saggy fabric headliner? Seller quoted £350 but up North.
- Any tried-and-tested fixes for sticky media buttons? Elbow Grease worked on a 3200 on Richard Hammond’s show.
- Post-purchase inspection/service recommendations near SW London/A3? Autofficina is obvious but pricey. I go to the IOW a few times a year so could drop it off en route.
- Anything else worth checking immediately?
Couple of pics from Southside Common yesterday, where a few other owners welcomed me. Delighted to finally join the club
You either have a very good memory, or searchable database of all your past sales!I had that car around 13 years back. I saw it advertised in the trade the other day. I bought if from ex Leeds Utd centre half Jon Newsome.
I agree - but then I wouldViva Classico!

I remember most, not all, and the only database is the publicly accessible one on our gallery. It isn’t on there though, as it was never listed, it was sourced for a client in Bonnie Scotland. You either have a very good memory, or searchable database of all your past sales!
