As said above CC is a great shop window, and I have no doubt just like eBay that shill bidding exists. i've been watching this Stad as it's just down the road from me, and as said above has been for sale for a few years at this dealer.

I might of been tempted to chop mine in for it, but I just wasn't a fan of the fill Blu interior, whereby mine is cream/blue it is a bit lighter in the cabin.

Final price SOLD for £40150. pretty good value I think, and I wonder if it will turn up at another dealers as there were some bidding for it !!

I think it’s about the right money; if I could find the thread I’m sure that’s what we all said they were worth 18 months ago when they first appeared for sale.

I don’t see what was wrong with the good old private sale which seems to have died a death now. All these sites are just private sales anyway with a load of suspect middlemen taking a cut.

Not comfortable with people viewing your car - trade it in (or wbac these days) and take the hit

Want a bit more and don’t mind herding a high percentage of muppets - sell private.

Trouble is I guess there’s not so many private buyers any more, but I don’t see how buying off collecting cars is safer than off someone’s driveway, probably worse, as it appears they make it hard to view and no doubt impossible to test drive.
I think an auction (at least when it is credible) gives to the potential buyer the perception of price discovery something that a private sale does not.
