LED headlights

Does anyone have a Ghibli with the LED headlights?
Now driving more in the darkness, I have found my headlights are a bit pants. The light is bright but it appears to be too low. I need full beam on on a dark road or it feels almost dangerous. Compared to the xenons on the previous one these are sh**. Im not sure if they can be adjusted, or what the high beam assist will do (apart from automatically dipping the lights)..
Anyone else have LEDs and find them poor?
I suppose I can get dealer to check them when its in for service..

So it turns out the high beam assist on these LEDs is really quite good. You just put your full beams on and it adapts the beam pattern depending on conditions (there is a digital camera under the rear view mirror). So you get sort of full beam light even when cars are coming the other way. Was a bit weird at first leaving the full beams on when a car was approaching but it was all good. Not one car has flashed me so far!

On the downside since I have started using this, the centre display no longer works properly.. the top left of the display that used to show the cruise control speed etc no longer displays anything. Needs looking at but can wait until the service.

Adaptive headlights have come along way in the last few years on the RR mainly it just auto dips the lights but on the much later Skoda it varied the beam pattern dependent on conditions and was very good at providing a clear light path in most circumstances.

The older cars I just try to afford going out in the dark

My 5 series had them and would block out oncoming cars. It was bizarre to see and watch it adjust. You would have full light and then a darker square. Got flashed a bit because it was a bit slow and also no good on a bend. I switched it off in the end. Another bit of tech that you don't really need.

I had that on a 2008 6 series as well - same experience as you.

Have 'shadow tec' LEDs on the XC90...as its a long term car I was a bit reticent because a failure of the system will cost thousands to fix as it ages. But it is standard on the Inscription Pro.
