Leather interior colour codes

Hi all,
First question on the forum but already lot of useful info gathered since registering so thanks for that.

I’m restoring my late fathers 3200 GT and I already contacted Maserati about the used colours in the car through VIN.

They replied there was no such information available in regard to the 3200’s.

Don’t know if they’re unwilling or they don’t have the possibility due to Ferrari’s involvement for that build.

Does anyone have old catalog info (or anything available) in regard to the leather colour codes used?

Help would be very much appreciated!

Greetings from Luxembourg

Welcome along from Lux, as far as I’m aware there are no ‘codes’ per say for leather colours.

Thanks!

Apparently they do exist, because if you wanted to order replacement interior parts you had to supply the 2 digits of the colour code.
Hoped to see them on the back of the parts but sadly only the 1107 of my VIN

This is interesting, as I was thinking about replacing some of my discoloured drivers seat trim with a LHD passenger seat equivalent!

Should be possible but hard to find for a decent price as you will have to buy the whole seat (or even a set).

I’m trying to repair the leather as it is still just a bit surface cracked but I need the specific colour to match the old paint.

If your leather is really ripped, find an upholstery or so. Probably cheaper than to replace a whole seat.

I just contacted Colourlock as they claim to be able to provide the colours in regard to the VIN.

I will let you know what the outcome is.

I'll be interested how you get on. I wish to do something similar. I think mine is Sabia but I'll do the same and send them the VIN

I had an email from them:

Hi Martijn,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We are the distributors for UK, Ireland, USA and Canada, and we don't ship products to Luxembourg. We do however have a partner in your country who will be able to help you. Please find their details below:

COLOURLOCK Luxembourg...

...We have also copied them into this email and they may contact you.

Best regards,

I expect them to sell me the repair and / or maintenance sets with the correct colour but not just supply the codes for free ;)

Had this reply. I'm fairly confident that my leather is Sabia as DL have indicated as one of the desirable combos and said so:

Sounds like a good ploy:cost bump.

Hi Robin,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The interior colour is called Maserati Pearl Beige. Unfortunately we don't have this colour in our database. I can try to order a leather sample form Germany so we can mix the colour for you. Please note that if they have it, it can take 5-10 working days for the sample to arrive. It would be quicker if you can send us a sample, a removable part with the same colour, or bring the car to our workshop for the colour match.

How to send a sample - There is usually a bit of excess leather under the base of the rear seat or by the side panels. You may have to unscrew some panels to gain access to this area. If you can get a sample (minimum size 1x1 inch), please send this to the following address by recorded post with your name and contact details:

Colourlock, Unit 4 Maple Industrial Estate, Maple Way, Feltham TW13 7AW, United Kingdom

Failing this please consider sending a headrest, armrest or any other removable part that we can use to mix the colour. We will then return the part with any products you order.

Let me know how you'd like to proceed.

Best regards,

Oh wow, hope the Germans are as helpful!
I'm a bit worried though as I know my father had the interior custom designed black / grey (Maserati Alfieri programme).
Good luck!

Update: they asked me to send pictures...

There are leather restoration shops which will match the colour and repair the leather you have, I suspect this is likely to result in a better finish than replacement?

Thanks but I prefer to do things myself :D
I’m in contact with Colourlock Germany.
I still have to send them pictures, but am on holiday...
