You can still get gliptone. They did change the formula and launched a new version. Red and white and purple and white bottles gt11/gt12.

The original formula is harder to get hold of but is still around on ebay.

20% off if you buy anything direct from gliptones site at the moment.

Wow. Thanks, guys, for all the advice and guidance. Tremendously helpful to have advice from people with first hand experience.

I got fresh supplies from their stand at NEC a couple of years ago.

Do you have any experience of using it, gt11/gt12 ?

Another interesting thread.
In the Porsche community which I occasionally dip my toes into many people use Pears Soap it's very good apparently and extremely cheap and readily available too.

GE-WY leather dressing is what I've used for over 30 years. It won't affect the stitching, and it keeps leather nice and soft.

I use bare hands to apply, and rub it well into the leather. Leave it overnight, and clean up with a soft cloth. Keeps the hands in good shape too...
Yep similar technique, on with bare hands, leave over night then remove excess with damp cloth

Can you advise me on this? I'm new to it and wondered whether you have a good solution....
How should I care for the leather upholstery in my 2008 60,000 mile QPV to keep it clean and free from cracking?
Mine is this colour, (Cuoio?)

Looks like beige to me, my 3200 was pretty much like this. My Granturismo is cuoio and it is tan to my eye. For a while they used to do cuoio sella as well which is a dark tan and on the older cars there was a colour called tobacco which is like cuoio sella but strangely the word is not too popular now.

What is great with Maserati is the wonderful range of cream/beige/tan colours that they offer - the perfect way to show contrast to a dark exterior colour.

@conaero

Hi matt - the contrast stitching of the seat you sprayed. How did you "fine line" mask it? Did the fine-line masking tape adhere well to the thread/surrounding leather?

My worry is that it isn't fixed solidly to the thread, then the paint gets under it and the stitching can get paint on it.

As you've done it, keen to hear for any issues that you had/

The leather in my GS was cleaned last week. Here’s a before/during pic:

It is fiddly to say the lease. I used 1mm but I think next time I will use 2mm.

It adheres well and if a bit bleeds under use a scalpel to etch it off.

good to know! my gliptone is slowly running out and I happen to have a large 4ltr tin of Ge-wy at home!

Used Gliptone leather products for ages, and really rate them, just wish the smell would last longer. At the start of last shut down, I stripped the interior out my GS, and cleaned and coated everything. Only thing left in was the dash. Mush easier to work on when its in bits. Getting the head lining out was bit of a challenge on my own, but doable.
