Now that's not nice. Glad its just an impression...

Thats actually the picture I really liked! just shows what they say about taste.

I vowed to my MD I'd buy one, if it came with a V8.... looks like I'm off the hook (skint now, anyway). In that mule video it really sounds hideous. I can't even think why they would release that clip. It will be a V6 turbo for sure, but surely they can make it sound at least 'OK'?

Agreed about needing to be a little more daring but it's been a while since they have been daring, let's see.

However I would be very surprised it is sub £150k. With the final Stradales in 2016 being around £140k for a hand finished car and then the more robotised, production line Levante Trofeo also being £140k, the MC20 with new technologies, possibly carbon tub & body will surely be priced North of these?
The main dealers I have spoken to have confirmed best part of £200k at launch

Well they will be keeping them I recon.
Agreed. They will either sell in such tiny volumes that it will make the car insignificant in the sports car world or they will offer huge incentives. I hope they go the second route so at least the brand has vehicles out on the roads creating interest. The GT replacement will be more inline with the sub £150k price point apparently.

Look at what Jag did with its coupe... almost identical to the Aston DB9.

Why can't Maserati do the same with some lower end Ferrari?
Ferrari has been spun off from FCA and have cut all ties with Maserati. That’s why we’re getting the MC20 at all.
It’s odd, the MC20 feels like what a modern Dino Ferrari might be, and of course the Roma feels like a Maserati...

given it was due to launch in May and the car it should have been was shown in 2014... I will stand by my statement.

Covid-19 was a bit of an issue. I’m confident it’ll appear in September as Wester runs the company well.

Well I am really excited to see the camouflage come off. It all looks good so far. Hope it's not a 200k car though as think it may struggle with the competition. They are better off aiming it as a Vantage competitor.

Agree with that but they will let the mid engined bit confuse them and assume that it is a much more expensive car than it should be.

As for launch, it's easy enough to build a few for the press event but customer cars might be a year later. With the GranTurismo the launch was 9 or so months before UK cars arrived.

Why only a 3-litre V6? I know that 621HP sounds adequate but Ferrari F8 has a 3.9 litre V8 and 700+ hp and the Huracan has a 5 litre V10, which is much more desirable. So Maserati can’t hope to succeed at a similar price. Logically, therefore, it must be a lot less expensive?

c£175k-£180k according to main dealer

130 to 140 it should be before options. It would sell well then. It needs to undercut the cheapest Ferrari to make its marque but I fear it will be like the Trofeo Ghibli priced the wrong side to make the biggest impact......Still, looking forward to seeing it as I feels like it could be a cracking car.

I am hopeful. Now that Ferrari is no longer a part of the FCA group and following the merger with Peugot, the group needs a halo brand to drive interest/sales etc. Maserati is that brand (imho) and I respect what they have attempted to do to stretch the current line up. It will be interesting to see if they have stayed true to the Maserati DNA or tried to build a mini Ferarri - but again I travel in hope

The new Ghibli Trofeo has a c600hp V8 but the range-topping MC20 has a c600hp V6. All a bit odd in my opinion
