I suspect my Dads cars of that era are piles of dust, Hillmans, Austin, Morris but mainly Fords. We did have a couple of MGs but they were just rebadged Austins, an MG Magnette which was a twin card version of the Farina styled Austin Cambridge and an MG 1300 which was just the Austin 1300 with a different badge and grill. The latter was only bought for the registration as it was VM 2506 which were my Dads initials and his DOB - he sold it a few years back but it doesn't seem to be active anymore according to the DVLA

Wow and what a find.
I know if I went looking for some of my late fathers old cars I would need a serious Lottery win to fund buying them.
AM DB5
Ferrari 330
Porsche 911
Jensen Interceptor
Iso Rivolta
What a Great childhood I had spending time with him in the 60'S.
Nice memories and your Dad had superb taste in cars! Any photos ?

My Dad tragically died aged just 41, in September 1975. His pal Joe from Pittsburgh, had ordered the Ghibli new, it was completed in September 1967 and we believe that Jo flew out to collect the car from the factory.
In early 74, my Dad saw the Ghibli up on blocks in one of Joes warehouses. It had only covered 13,000 miles. It was love @ first sight , so a deal was struck.
It was shipped over to England. It needed some tlc due to sitting unused for some years. It was put on an N plate and people used to think it was new ( it looked new ) plus a Ghibli back then was a very rare sight, we only ever saw a red 4.9SS that a Greek garage owner had, opposite the Rainbow theatre and a silver Spyder was regularly parked up in Upper street Islington )
My Dad had just dropped his Ghibli off for clutch repair, when he suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to Nth Middlesex Hospital and died @ around 5.30 am on September 9th 1975. The car was sold to a pal and his father. They sold it in 76 via a Peter Finochi ( are you out there Peter ? ) to an American buyer. In 1990 the Maserati club told me that it was thought to be in Carmel CA. The trail then went cold, until circa 2007, when I was told that it was in Germany owned by a Doctor.
The trail went cold again, but every few weeks I would look for Ghiblis that were for sale. And then a few days before Xmas last year Bingo, there it was on Car and Classic. The seller ( a trader in Austria ) had listed its Vin number in the advert heading.
Sadly it was re painted yellow some ten years ago along with some poor body repair work. He wants £200,000 which is £ double what the car is worth. I still have all of the cars early papers, inc it's factory build sheet.

One outstanding memory is of an early morning run down to Dorset, we hit an indicated 145 and the car was just so stable and smooth @ high speed. It didn't have PAS and my Dad often said the steering was very heavy @ low speed.
Its dark tan interior is exactly as it was back in 1975.

Great photo and cherished memories. 15" wheels on the Ghibli and a 15" flare on the bell bottoms. Nice

My twin brother in Kuala Lumpur has all my Dads old photos etc.
I posted sum up on pic of the day recently.
My Dad was in with the Jolly Club of Milan back then and had a lot of HF Fulvias too.
My brother is coming back to the UK so hopefully being closer I can see more of the pictures.

That's probably a good excuse to do those speeds.
"The reason I was going so fast officer, is because the steering is very heavy below 70!"
