So How is the ride comfort and handling of the KW V3 compare stock suspension in Sport mode?

She came back yesterday from the dealer in Tokyo, and just finished a nice 200 km run.

KW v3 installed, she has been lowered to the point that you can fit approx. 2 fingers between the fender and the wheel on both front and rear.

Rebound and bump/compression have been turned 2 clicks from "hard" on the front, 4 on the back (significantly harder than KWs recommendation of 5 and 11).

Fronts
Toe-in 0.2
Caster +4 degrees 55'
Camber -27'

Rears
Toe-in 2.1
Camber -1degree 46'

For sake of completeness, tires are GS standard size P Zero (12k on the fronts, 5k on the rears). And I added 16mm spacers in the front to further limit weight transfer onto the front wheels during cornering, reducing the understeer in search of a more neutral set-up.

So how does she ride......?

Amazing and scary at the same time. She feels like a completely different car.

There is virtually no pitching or rolling. High-speed stability (didn't take her above 200km/h yet....speed-limit on most Japanese highways is 100 km/h...) has significantly improved, with limited floating. Tram-lining appears less than before, although the steering handle still is more talkative than my mother in law (which in this case is a good thing).

Turn-in is instant, with the car pivoting around its center so much more willing than before. Before I was always conscious of moving 1680 kg around....but now she feels like she's at least 250 kg lighter.....hard to describe, but it's quite a sensational feeling. So far the good.

The bad: she skips over bumps in the road, to the point where the ride becomes unsettled and you need to slow down to settle the rebound. Grip levels at the rear are also significant less than before (although the weather has cooled down suddenly and is now about 6 degrees C which might have something to do with that as well). I expect this is due to the hard rebound setting, so I am going to playing around with this on the KWs and see what it feels like.

In combination with DBW and DMS ECU, she has gone from being a capable GT to an outright sportscar.

To be continued....

Some lovely motors there and I hope they all got home safely this time! Is that a track prepped F40 with the roof intake?

Some great pictures there. Loving the Muira.

That Miura was gorgeous, especially in period brown colour with gold rims. But the Khamsin next to it was a real beauty too. The more I see those cars, the more I love the purity of line.....just not sure I could live with the diravi set-up...

Sweet classic Lotus there too...was the Police checking your road tax?

The police came in to let people know they were being watched....after the initial meet up at 9h00 am, there was a (high speed) run of about 100km down to the southern part of Osaka.

I shall have to look again; maybe with my glasses on! Thanks, I've learnt something today :)

You and me together.....never saw a beast like that before either. There were about 100 cars total....lots of bulls and horses, but just two Maseratis. Beauty and the beasts....

Reviving this thread with a question: What happens with the Skyhook dashboard indicator after installing aftermarket coilovers? Will it light up? I assume so. How can it be disabled?
