Good news is that nothing else is damaged, but the bad news is that it needs a new bumper.

There is a crease on the top which would be difficult to rectify.

Waiting for quote before I go back to the van owner, but it's looking like it will be an insurance job.

I reckon. It won't be cheap.

The new door, wing mirror, plus paint and fitting etc I needed on my Jag came to just under 3 grand!!!

Remember that includes a 100% premium for taking the pis5 out of the insurance company.

When I cracked my rear bumper, an old acquaintance sourced a fresh one from his garden shed for £50 and I had it painted. £500 all-in. That's not to say that GTS rear bumpers exist in every garden shed, but to emphasise that painting and fitting shouldn't be too arduous. Parts will be the bum-clencher.

I can confirm that there are no GTS bumpers in my shed. So you must have been lucky :p

It's my mrs, she's a linguist and goes apeshiit at 'could of, would of, etc' and has frequent meltdowns over apostrophe abuse...

My brother confuses 'as' with 'has' 100% of the time and that really gets my goat.

My name is Wanderer, and I am a GoM....

I wish to aks if theres' anything else pacific that makes you grumpy?

The guy at the repair place showed me the parts list. Everything brand new (obviously) the door was 1400 quid!

the worst bit is 5 years of having to answer yes to the have you had an accidents regardless of fault questions, it makes using online quotes a right PITA

I forgot to mention my non fault claim on one phone call, got the quote then remembered so told them , they added £60 on so I politely said it doesn't seem entirely fair that a crash I could do nothing to avoid puts my insurance up so I'll leave it thanks.

OK let me see what I can do, er , er , yes I can apply a discount of £60

You will be very lucky to find anyone worth their salt repairing this for £200-£500 as suggested. I had a very inconsiderate member of the public ram their door into my rear wheel arch in a car park, leaving a perfect deep edge dent. It cost me £800 cash to get it fixed. The body shop who did the work in Preston was superb and did a fantastic job but it doesnt come cheap.
