How often do you guys change the batteries in your key fobs ?, have noticed with both my keys you have to be quite near to the car on the side to open, it also does not seem to work very well from the rear of the car. Do you think its just the key fobs needling new batteries or something else.

Once or twice in my whole life, but it wouldn’t be too expensive to try it and see if it helps.

My GT always had lousy range. New battery or not.

The Jaaaaaag eats batteries. They last about a month

Got a new battery put in at Timpsons the other day. Range went from 5 feet to 50 feet, and hit rate from 50:50 to 100%.

Try changing the batteries and if that doesn't help open the fobs and look for dry joints. Dropping keys eventually causes dry joints which can cause a weak signal, this happened to both the keys for my Mercedes SL.

I wonder if that was what was wrong with mine. Seems very common. Good call

I usually change mine in the key I use & the spare when I buy a car (used car), and they have always seen me through for as long as I have kept the cars
