Standard Strad has an xpipe with a flow-through type silencer. The silencer box is small and has no baffles. Basically the straight through tubes have a squillion holes drilled in them and the gas goes through to the box, which is probably stuffed with fibreglass wadding. I would say it has very very little restriction as standard, and is there to fine tune the sound more than anything.

Unlike Outrun, I am not convinced the larini xpipe makes it better! Raspy, louder and a tad boy-racer-esque, yes.

The problem here gents, is, that the strad from the factory had one of the "worlds best" (according to the internet - must be true) exhaust notes! I would love to take mine for a spin without the larini x again, but can't be bothered taking it off........

The centre section on the Stradale is the same component as on the standard MC-Shift, they share the same part number too. For me, the change is greater when fitted to the MC-S than it is when fitted to the Stradale where it is more subtle but still worthwhile in my opinion

Azapa, I tend to agree with you. It's such a great noise straight out of the box I'm not sure it can be improved. Stunning sound.

Yes, the chap on here who was at the Bristol show a number of years ago. Drove off at the end. Very loud and poppy. It's a personally thing but preferred Blondies standard one when she drive off the same day. It was loud enough for me.

I lent a members 4200 vintage pack car and that had Larinis and the drone at 70 was just too much. Not nice at all. My wife would go in it down the motorway....Not sure if there was something wrong with the fitting as I know not all drone from owners experience.
