sorry, Im not feeling argumentative anymore, i've moved on to coffee now:p, any thoughts on coffee or gold trading?

Coffee is the one thing I can’t live without, so sorry, can’t argue about that. But I am sure Geoff will be along shortly to explain gold trading for you :)

What a great antidote you all are....what a genuinely funny thread and I can see it developing to 50pages before you know it!

Funny someone should mention “hen” as in Swedish it is a word you use when you are unsure of someone’s gender. Or an insult.

I only came to visit 5 years ago and have stayed ever since, the thread drift is mind bending and it is even worse at the Christmas Party!
That reminds me of a line from Godfather 3......Every-time I try to get out they pull me back in!!! Can't beat a little filtered coffee.......

To be honest, this is just a story about someone who has reacted badly to being mildly inconvenienced by a sign being painted.

True, but the joy of the story is the many, many levels of faux offence it can generate:

Someone was offended because:
  • I could not park in my 'special' space because there was painting going on
  • it seems silly to go to the trouble and expense of doing the painting
  • this is gender neutrality (men and women can both be parents) gone mad
  • this is gender fluidity (anyone can be any gender or none) gone mad
  • waaaah! wot abaht the kids? (works in all situations)
  • this is not gender neutral as it suggests trousers (men) are 'normal' and skirts (women) are secondary
  • it should have been done ages ago as dads can be parents too
  • why are they white?
  • why should people with kids get preferential parking? what about people with big shiny cars, eh?
  • etc, etc , continued on p94

Was just reading the papers this morning and came across this

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...es-car-parent-child-car-parking-signs-ensure/

what a load of bollox, this gender fluid/neutral thing is just ridiculous, the frigging Gillette anti male advert, cant have female manikins with lingerie in shop windows, gender neutral toilets bla bla bla, I think I read somewhere that kids as young as 5/6 are being taught that it's ok to be gender neutral, ffs they're just kids

Another reason why I don't read 'newspapers' anymore.

Normally I’d agree, just had vegan lasagne for my dinner, now my missus does a mean meat lasagne, I have expressed approval for the vegan one, I darent say it was better, but it was **** good, really, really tasty, no jars, packet mixes in sight, all cooked from scratch, including tomato sauce etc, don’t worry, I’m not for turning, but **** that was good.
