I've got a new car!

I struggle with the looks of the Evoque, as I think it gives the impression of trying too hard, looks a bit like a transformer, and is too sloped and slanted and squished at the back.

The Velar on the other hand looks much nicer, and I could see us test driving one as and when my Range Rover Sport comes up for renewal...

I don't mind the 5 door Evoque but hate the 3 door version and don't get me started on the one they took a tin opener to..

The Velar on the otherhand looks quite nice

I too like the look of the Velar, the guy where I store my car had an Discovery brand new, he returned it after 6 month and told them he wanted his money back, he was told its past the 3 month period, he told them to check their records as they had had it for 4.5 months while he was in a loaner....
Has a Merc 350 now...

We took delivery of a Velar 3.0D in May. Drove it to the Algarve and back over the summer. I’m hugely impressed with it. I’ve had Vogues and Sports previously, but can honestly say, interior space apart, it’s every bit as good

Yeah. Which is a real shame. I really like the discovery and was looking st getting one.

But I have a lot of similar problems. In fact my mums mechanic told me never to buy one and if I did he would never want to see me again.

However the Velar as long as it is reliable looks stunning I think.

Now then - if we are going to talk about awful looking cars, the brand new Discovery wins an award (IMO)... I HATE the back of it, and it’s such a shame as the previous version was a cracking car...

I agree. For a car company that is generally good at design the rear of the Discovery is terrible. I do think that the Velar is very colour sensitive though.
