Is this the year ?

Hi all. After years of running Mercs, as company car and more recently owned via cash alternative, I'm contemplating later this year moving to a nearly new Ghibli or possibly slightly older Quattroporte. Have loved the marque since a kid and am now in a position to contemplate owning one. I live in Bristol, which appears to be no go zone for Maserati dealers. Nearest are Egham, Birmingham or Exeter, none of which are a problem for purchasing the car but have serious concerns on servicing, especially whilst still under warranty. Anybody out there from this region who has an answer, or is it a day out job just for straightforward servicing/repair.

Take it to Emblem at Poole as I have done for 10 years... better than a MD.

The dealers will offer a collection/delivery service if required, and it's only once every two years anyway, so I really can't see that being a factor at all. When I bought my first Maserati, there was only one dealer in the whole of the UK (Meridien Modena) who were in Bournemouth at that time, while I lived in London.

My wad of bills and service history etc contains a shed load of 600 quid collection, delivery sums for pickup in Dublin to Belfast for service, and back again.

It's only 90 minutes up the M5 to Solihull (GreyPaul Maserati) if you are keen to have an MD service history. Or plenty of very good independents closer.

As has been said, every 12500 or 2 years is not a great issue to travel.

Thanks for replies, as said, with it being 2 year frequency it's not a great issue. Will start my hunt later in the year.

Would be very cautious of recommending this lot. The quality of service I have had since buying my GC has been poor to say the least.

Thanks for heads up, as a matter of interest have you ever had rear seat passengers in your GC ?

I am not sure I would go nearly new Ghibli unless you have a very healthy discount as they drop in money like a stone. I would probably look for one a few years older that has dropped a big chunk of money already....Although there is another thread on here and some dealers are offering around 14k off new cars......Great value for money these days and great looking saloon car though. I would imagine you could get a pretty healthy discount on a QP as well as Maserati have struggled to sell the new model in the UK.....Think it it was me I would go QP as it feels like more car for your money.

I’m Bristol based (ish) near Portishead. I’ve owned a QP and now a GTS. If you want a direct chat over a coffee about ownership etc, I’d be happy to.

Sorry for delay. Yes, you can fit a couple of adults in there. They are proper seats. Would not want to be in the back for more than an hour or so if a 6 footer. The kids are happy in the back.
