Is the radio the same in the QPV (facelift) and the GT?

I think I may have to replace the radio in the 'new' QP due to a (previously advised) issue with the 'on/off' button. If I look for a used one, is the radio the same in the M139 facelift QP as in the Granturismo? And can they just be swapped over?

The radio itself looks the same, but the surround looks as if it might be a little wider at the top on a QP. But maybe the surround can be swapped separately?

Also, is it an easy swap, or do you need to go to the dealer for re-programming or something?

What? A NIT more NAFF than the Marinelli GT NIT? Surely not?
Indeed. Same pile they fitted in some of the 612 and poss 599 I think. They were left overs and Ferrari made Mas sell them as an upgrade. Or so I have been told.

I would suspect the face plates do change yes but the system may be different for different functions. It might work. You will need a proxy alignment for the new one.

There is a screen menu which displays the software (and perhaps HW) Version. From that I can determine if this is suitable. I've found that swapping NIT like for like doesn't require proxy alignment, only when swapping for different HW Variant

HW7 can be swapped for same unit and same for the HW8 (BT and USB).

Press and hold menu button from memory to get the SW version.

To answer my own question (I think) the QPV Facelift and GT radios seem to be different, with a different-shaped faceplate and also the GT one has (sensibly) holes in it so you can use a tool to hoik it out.

Does anyone have a working QP one that they would like to sell?

....except, that I am now seeing on Eurospares that the QPV 2009 NIT is 'replaced by' this GranTurismo one:

85220

which does seem to be the QP shape:

But on Scuderia, it says, no, this is a Quattroporte radio.

I think I'll just get an Audi.

It will the same just with a different fascia surround I imagine. QP radios screw to the surround or mine does so you have to remove the gear surround first to get to bottom fixings then pull the air vents for the top.

Yeah, I get that the radio module can be removed from the dash, but the point is that the black trim that surrounds the radio unit is a different shape (the QP one is wider at the top). And there are holes in the GT one to facilitate removal, which also suggests a different chassis behind.

So unless you can separate out just these bits, it looks like they are different and incompatible to me.

Yes I meant as the button layout is identical maybe it is possible to swap your front out onto a gt head unit.
