Yes I must admit that I’d much prefer the option not to have the exhaust valves open on a cold start - I also get anxious about the neighbours if I’m setting off early.
If it’s a reasonable hour, I always wait for it to come off the choke a bit, and for the valves to close, before I set off - that helps with the temperamental low speed hesitancy.
I hope Mrs. C enjoys it - I’m sure she’ll find the experience most agreeable(!)
Of course the vacuum closes the valves so they do leak down. They take rather longer than the GT to close as well. Turbos, of course. It must be a deliberate choice as you can get valves that are sucked open. Mostly though, I'm in favour . I cannot wait to do cold start in the office underground car park next week To say nothing of the lift (although that will be a tight squeeze.

72k? You think so? Don't forget it's not the 6HP. I know those were 'lifetime' but lots of people found it better to service them.
Mrs C's Giulietta is in for a major and some 'remedial body work' while we're away. the Ghibli isn't due for another 400 days but I'll have a word with Feli while I'm there since the MOT is due in December
Cheers
