Is it worth it

I'm not in the market for a Lamborghini and not likely to be, but I am rather taken by this (and always wanted one) rather than the current breed:
Prices for Espadas have gone up somewhat in the last few years, and are clearly not such good value as Maseratis. Nice though.

Or alternatively there's a few Diablos about...….

Blimey, it wasn’t that long ago you couldn’t get a tenth of that for an Espada

How’s Lambo in terms of depreciation? How do you think a performante bought for £175k today will fare in 3years?
Wouldn’t mind owning one, but my wife refuses to dye her hair blond and get silicone implants

No one really know what the market will be like in a few years with the move to EV and hybrids. Personally I think it has a bit of depreciation before it will level off. What I also liked about HP was that it’s not too large and the sound is addictive.
If she refuses then a mistress? Brunettes are fine too and these cars come with airbags! All these Lambo/Ferrari cars are quite shouty, especially in bright colours. I find my fill up at petrol station can be quite long with chats about the car.

Neither my 550 which attracts zero attention at the gas station though it’s probably the most understated recent Ferrari of all, nor my red F430. Probably cause I look like a miserable grumpy git...

I generally like cars with engines in the front so prefer the classic Ferrari & Lambo models but I can't, and will never be able to afford a Daytona, Espada etc. A 550 or 575 fits the bill nicely and they are a stretch but not totally out of reach - I can dream

it's probably the Lambo I'd be most drawn to, but I'm not a YouToobing yoof, so would feel like a fraud if I had one. A very broke fraud. With a really, really angry wife.

I would have thought very similar to run cost wise v a GTS. Take the clutch gossip for what it is. No way it’s 12k. Yes manifolds weak point but get one that’s been sorted already.
Call Aldous at AV Engineering as already mentioned. He owns a 430 himself.

If I had performante money it wouldn’t be a debate my favourite car at the moment
I have been offered one at 165 which I think is a bargain. However it’s the ultimate look at me car and I can’t imagine where it could be driven...

They’re all look at me cars whether it’s a midlife crisis FF with the two kids in the back or a neon green Lambo with barbie in the passenger seat but why worry. I think you can drive one anywhere unless you’re being one of those tools who rev the nuts of them with stupid pop bang exhausts while doing 2mph down the high street. In which case I think they should be driven to the nearest MP’s private club for a session with Brenda the bender and her knob screws.

I went the other way! Always dreamed of owning a Ferrari so bought a 360 Spider (manual gearbox for my first Ferrari). Beautiful but rarely used it. Sold it and bought a Granturismo - very happy with the decision. I miss the attention and badge of the Ferrari but the Maserati feels just as exotic, far more comfy, far more usable and I know I made the right decision.

And half the price or less! Unbelievable value the GT-S if it’s been looked after.

I think Rivarama is bang on. Its cost of ownership that matters assuming you have the cash to buy whatever you want. For me the 355 or 550 are the current pick of the bunch at c£70k. I am sure we could all re-mortgage the house but my view has always been that cars bought purely for the fun of it don't get bought on credit. You have to earn the right to own something like this. No question that Maserati offers amazing value for money when compered to Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini. Must work harder......
