The title is enough, is it worth to spend the money in the BMC air filter sold by larini?

Best regards!

Depends what you want to achieve, really. I doubt you're going to get a significant power increase. Saves you having to buy a new filter though, I guess.

Just clean and oil the old one. Carefully

i have one, not so sure it makes that much of a difference to sound, maybe a little more induction at high revs, but only had it in for 100 miles

You can pick them up on eBay new for about 60 quid which isn't far off the cost of the OEM one which needs replacing every so often, so it makes sense to me.

If you get one, keep the old filter in a box in case you want to use the car when you decide to remove and clean the BMC filter. Personally, I like to leave them to dry at least overnight before refitting, though it's such a convoluted job to replace the air filter on these cars, you'd probably end up removing, cleaning and refitting before moving the car anyway...

Only downside is that I get a slight whistle from the intake when giving a touch of throttle on while cuising at 60-75mph... Barely notice it unless I am on a very very long drive

There was a used one for sale on the parts for sale section of the forum
