No I wouldn't say its age related Phil... The new "supra" is a huge disappointment

Styling wise it seems more like a new GT86 than the spiritual sucessor of a 90s JDM super car killer. I'm sure performance will be fine the BMW 40i 3.0 twin scroll turbo engine can no doubt be tuned to stupid numbers

Rear end looks great...front end not so much...
It’s not available in manual- so who cares ?

Mate... It just needs a wide arch kit. I'm sure there will be a rocket bunny bee racing supra the day after the release date

I remember when we had a brand new Supra on road test for Auto Italia back in the early 90's
dull as ditch water, but the thing was bloody quick!

It's not all about speed, but how it does it and makes you feel :)

I think this thread title is wasted on the Toyota Supra. An ideal place for one liners....

After the concept I was looking forward to this car but I'm disappointed. The rear is horrid. The front is ok. The concept looked the dogs b.

I believe there will be a manual but when it gets the 4 cylinder engines. It's getting most of the Z4 engines I believe but at 50k it seems to much as it look as above more of a GT86 competitor.

It's trying to hard IMO - Not something I would be interested in but that can be said about the vast majority of Japanese cars in my view.

I like it, it looks Japanese.
This ^

Im not liking the gaping, bottom feeding front end. The wing slits, the door slits or the too heavy hump over the rear quarter but they are just pics..Reserving judgement then...Other than the rear- which I like !
A 4 pot beemer unit isnt doing diddly squat for either though, manual or otherwise...And why ? The Japnese arent short on know-how....!

Seems overdone to me too. Or the exact opposite to the dull unimaginative style of most German premium brand cars.
Say what you like about the engineering of Maserati, in terms of styling they are still way ahead of anything this side of an Aston Martin.

Couldn’t be more disappointed with the design. I used to own a 1996 Supra NA and then sold it and got a 1999 TT when I came over to UK. Having seen the so called replacement, I actually started looking for the old one again- if only my garage is big enough .

Not sure why they decided to use Z4 as the base, should have been the M4 chassis. The proportion just look wrong, completely lost the elegance of the old design. The concept FT-1 looked great, very promising, but they ended up with this. I would prefer the old 6 speed TT over the current this new design.
