iPod connection question....

Problem: updated iTunes is no longer compatible with old school iPods. And Apple has stated that they will NOT be working on a fix. So, whatever music you have on the iPod is basically it...

When did that happen? I updated my old 80G classic the other day.....

I originally purchased a cable from ebay and while it worked i didnt have full functionality. Gray paul supplied maseati cable and it works perfectly and full control from steering wheel buttons etc, worth the 25x additional price. That is with 2014/2015 nit and a very old ipod, so worth trying genuine cable.

Mine is the 160. Mac sees it but not iTunes. Official answer from Apple is that it’s obsolete and will no longer be supported. Went to my office where I have an old version of iTunes installed and all went well.

Perhaps yours is newer. Mine is really a first generation. Google "iPod classic not recognized by iTunes" and you’ll see that it’s not supported by 12.7 and later.
