Interior Repairs

So I decided after researching and getting some guidance from Dale to tackle some interior bits which had started to lift. Still cant believe on such a car we have to glue bits down. I had the rear seats out as the two rear door panels had started to lift at the bottom they now look good again. I managed to get the two center parts out at the rear and plan to get them done in leather to be harder wearing. One had damage and one again vinyl lifting. Will let you know how I get on

I found that glue just does not hold it. What I prefer to do is secret staple them then cover the staples with cloth electrical wrap tape.

Stretch it too far and it tears so be careful.

I have the same problem with my GT. The good people at Emblem spotted it and their trimmer said he couldn't help. Are fixing this vinyl is almost impossible, do you get surfaces retrimmed in a leather or Alcantara instead?

I actually have a specialized vinyl guy. He can repair car vinyl, maybe not to perfection but since most places are not in clear of full sight that is not a big issue.

Where is he based? Cheers :)

So managed to get the bits off and retrimmed for £60 as he had some material left over from a previous job and it matched really well. RESULT! I used https://www.bjcartrimmers.com/ and the guy i spoke with was Barry. Looks much better now :)

I have exactly the same problem with the cover over the rear air vents but can't work out how to remove it.
Is it screwed from the underside or just clipped on? I've tried giving it a good pull but it seems pretty solid and I don't want to damage it any further.

screwed underneath, gently get the airvents out using a trim tool (leverage from the bottom) and pull out then 4 screws two at the front and two at the back which screw into the top pad thats it. You can see from my pics the screw points

I have been told by a local car upholstery guy that there is a leather adhesive that works great called Barge all-purpose leather/rubber glue. I’ve not used it but will give it a go

Well I gave up trying to get the air vents out to reach the screws so it's booked into a trimmer who should have the tools to do it. His nearest match vinyl is close enough as to not be noticeable.
