Does anyone know of someone in Essex / London who could repaid this small bit of damage to the interior trim on the corner? Looks like vinyl rather than leather. Thanks all.

Any auto trimmer will be able to fix that.

Sadly it is PVC, the only leather on modern post 2002 Maserati is the seat facing and the wheel and grab handles, and some small sections of dash... still beats synthetic leather you get in most BMW/AUDI/MB.

As a temporary fix until you get it repaired, you could touch it in with a permanent marker...might stop it catching your eye!

I have similar and intend it try a temp repair with Plasticote applied with a small brush, am worried that any Proper repair could be damaged again anyway, as I often take passengers

My wife had a C class Merc with the "man made leather" (Vinyl by any other name). it cracked and a small piece peeled off the backing thanks to ridiculous studs on her jeans.. . Ended up using a version of this (not this exact looking package but same type.. ) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Liquid-Leather-Repair-Gouges-Invisible/dp/B00N98XUGG

Actually worked quite well, took some time and did a test first but it did the job. As you say it will happen again to that bit of trim.. so best 1st attempt and if that fails.. get it re-trimmed.

The problem with the coating in the pic is it’s not pvc, it’s a stretch rubberised coating over the type of polystyrene you get fruit in, it’s really cheap. So once you start playing with it, the hole gets bigger. If you can get a trimmer to recover it in pvc that would be your best bet.

As an aside does anyone know how to remove that bit?

I replaced my broken centre console handle the other week, I managed but couldn’t fully lift off the centre console top section and it looked like it was this but getting in the way (yes I did undo the screws)

Yes I just did one a few weeks ago.

The air vents pull out and upwards to access the retaining bolts underneath.

I have this bubble on my driver's door. I can't find a trimmer who knows what to do. But I do remember a guy in the US on YouTube who took a video of a refurb process. I can't find it again - does anyone know what Maserati called this covering?

Just tried so I could definitely move the vents up first, they went up a good 5+ mm

Struggled then to try and lever the whole vent but forward, any tips?

It's pleather and it comes with the door card (I think). Best idea might be to inject some glue with a hyodermic?

Thanks, Catman - I think that sounds a plan. Do you reckon UHU or something specific?

I'd got for something a little more specific. Perhaps Evostik but test a patch first. Might be some better suggestions along shorty.

I had something similar with my old DB7 after I foolishly left it out all winter under a cover but with the window open an inch by mistake.
Local trimmer fixed it but I have no idea how, just looked him up but no longer in business I’m afraid.

I like the idea of injecting glue but suspect the correct way will be to cut it open, fix it and then “invisible” repair the cut.

Be careful with some of the contact adhesives. They can eat the vinyls in these cars as it has not backing. It is incredibly thin and vacuum formed onto foam. The glue dries and results in peeling.

I would definitely seek a trimmer and at least get glue from them. That's what I did for a couple of peeling bits I had. It also needs to be high temp as well.

You are going to really struggle to repair that. The stretch rubber coating does not react to bonding well. I have found that secret staples are the only way to secure it but that won’t work for your issue.

I had to replace my rear shelf with similar issues. Maybe worth a search for salvage. Found mine in US as needed Bose version and it was much cheaper shipping than buying in UK.

What other bolts need removing to get this top part off? I've found a trimmer who will repair but wants the part removed as a small job. Many thanks.
