Interior door lever/handle doesn't work always. Door won't open.

while preparing my first roadtrip to the motorshow in Geneva tomorrow, Luigi decided to fool around with my 4200 car. The leftside door cannot ( in most cases) opened from the inside. The lever doesn't activate anything. If you pull it again 20 times it works eventually. So right now I have to open my window and open the door from the outside (always works)
Anyone an idea what might cause this issue?

All the stuff in there is the same as the older Alfa 916 GTV.. I'd check out the micro switch on the door handle!

It will be the lock mechanism, it’s quite common.

Thankfully, new they are £35 but frustrating to fit.

Door card off and release the lock from the shut end.

Just had to fix that on the F car. It's an mot fail point now.

So from the outside the door can be opened without any issues. Only from the inside it requires a lot of moving the handle before it opens

Same here. I'm told I need a new lock mechanism. ( Different car, but basically the same mechanism.) No 4, I'm told. Cable is ok on mine.

Some times the screws come loose and it just needs tightened up, does the handle on the outside move at all?

The one on the outside works perfectly. Just the one on the inside which only works 1 of the 5 times you move the handle.
