Came to my attention on the US forum...this dealer was close to my old Uni...they stock highly collectible cars.

Is it a Trofeo Loz...Looks like a GS which has been painted in Trofeo colours to me. Have a look at the other photos it has standard GS interior not the Trofeo race car interior. Plus not low enough for Trofeo.

Sorry Andy was taking the pee, i meant its resembling early type Trofeo colours , i dont like the blue lower all round skirts but the blue headlights look cool , when i was doing the GS , David Askew offered me some new Metallic Black GS headlights cheap and i was very nearly inclined to fit them as they were , i was going to have the rear boot lip spoiler painted the same colour and tinted rear lights at the time i very nearly went for it , but then the sensible head pops back on and i decided to keep it standard.

regards loz

For those who are wondering what the owner was trying to imitate...

Bootlip should have been painted blue too...CF throws it off.

It does not seem to be a cheap attempt (Loz can attest that the headlamps can't just be opened and painted), but rather a factory special order...I know this dealer, they don't sell "mongrels"

What if you added a blue trident on the hood?

Just got email from Maserati of New England, and that was indeed a factory special order car to mimic the Trofeo.

May not be to everyone's taste, but it's certainly a cheap ($40k) collector's item. Maybe 1 of 1?

JP, time to put your overalls on and do that paintjob on your GS you are clearly so longing for.... :p
