Insurance time

Folks,

My admiral mulricar policy is up for renewal, is there any genuine other places worth trying? Admiral have always come up one of the best prices for years now, and I actually can't fault them.

Always get these recommendations but they are like a grand more than expensive and they scratch their head about it but if a decent company wants my money and can do something then it's theirs for the taking

Cheers in advance

Aviva do a competitive multicar. Friends swear by Admiral but I would never touch them after claim issues when I was with them (or Bell direct, one of their subsids)

Cheers will give aviva a whirl, I actually have life / income protection with them wonder if it would qualify for a discount

I've got a multi car policy with Norton. GT insurance them was cheaper than anyone else on go compare site.
However, they are not competitive on the 911 I've just added to the stable

I found Direct Line very competitive last Spring. Seemed like they were definitely looking for more business. Only glitch is, they pay out the market value, not an agreed sum.
I didn't query that with them at the time, but it'd be a deal breaker for me at renewal. They were easy to deal with. Didn't seem overly officious. When I needed to put another
car on the policy temporarily, they sorted things out with minimal fuss and cost. Solutions driven, it seemed.
Good luck! :)

Martin Lewis site, i have a duel policy with 7000 miles pa for Mas and Cayenne under £400 obviously age /points/ area play a part.
I halved my Commercial policy as well when that came up, previous insurer WAS Performance Direct.

Renewal came through for me, £580 with Elephant (Admiral). Shopped around the comparison and cashback sites and could get it for £417 excluding cashback. Called Elephant back and they gave me £390. So the renewal is marked up ~50% on what they could have offered! Make sure to shop around.

I've been on Admiral Multicar for GT Sport & 156 GTA for a couple of years - I decided to switch as their valuation on the GTA was derisory, and I got a better quote from Adrian Flux...only problem was, they wanted me to take policy out there and then and do not hold quote for you.

Insurance for my Passat is due for renewal in Dec, renewal notice came through from Tesco for £476! went on all the comparison sites and got it down to around the £300 mark, but seriously p*s*e* off that Tesco came out at around £350 for exactly the same details! tried Aviva and they have come in at £284, so guess who will be getting my business!

Just had to claim after the good lady was struck - she was stationary on a motorway and rear ended at 60mph! Luckily no major injuries, the third party vehicle written off and outs a repairable.
The insurance appointed Personal Injury lawyers proudly announced they charge 25% of all recovered costs - this is apperenrky common across the board and a new rule sine April. Having already paid a fee to have personal injury insurance with the policy why do I have to pay again?
The claim won’t be £1000’s but the accident did cause discomfort for several days and a lot of bruises
Question is, if the 25% is a new rule I might as well save the additional £30 or so premium and instruct a internet claims monkey to recover any injuries claims.

Well can’t fault admiral again to be honest, had to add some points on from this year (there’s a thread on it) and the price was cheaper than last years and only a few quid more than the renewal, happy as a pig in ****

This is first year I’ve had admiral house / contents insurance and it looks like that has made the difference, she mumbled something about 20% off, not sure if that was the quote or just the add ons like legal cover etc but regardless a very happy bunny

Renews tomorrow I need to stop leaving this stuff so late

Direct Line cost me £248 last year
Renewal letter today comes in at £248
Quite surprised by this, shall I trawl the Martin Lewis websites this w/end for a cheaper option?

IF it was me, I'd just save myself the time. Even if you get 10% down, is it worth it? And is it *likely* but it's your time :)

Also renewal time and my premium has literally halved after nearly doubling last year. From £890 down to £443 which has got me relieved as it was just too much last year

do any of you still use / rate a-plan - I know they used to be a sponsor on here or have you switch from them to who for a better deal ?

my concern with any of these insurance companies is the claims reviews - if anything should happen, its knowing the claim will be handled without any hastle. I had a non-fault claim and A-Plan handled the process, I did have to push back on one thing but they were on my side and sorted it out. (was nothing to do with the Mas....)

We have a new sponsor who is giving us very keen prices, give Darren a call at AIB Insurance and get them to quote:

02380 268 351

Darren AIB Insurance - darren@aib.co.uk

Darren ran Aplan Thatcham back in the day when we were all with them and he's keen to replicate that relationship.

Dont forget to mention this forum for your extra discount.

Nice work, Matt. I've used APlan and been really impressed, but they ended up being much more expensive. I'll definitely try Darren come renewal time.

Insured the Maser originally with A Plan, moved away a few years and back with them last 2 years.
It's always a bit of merry-go-round isn't it!
